Should capitalists be the leaders of society? Is capitalism a bad thing? What says you!

Capitalism is a cult, with beliefs you must agree with. Alternative views are not allowed to be discussed in the mainline venues.

Alan Greenspan says that capitalism has no moral responsibility. The business schools teach that nothing matters but profit.

But whether we like capitalism or not, it's on the way out. It depends on oil, & oil reserves are expected to be gone by 2016 or so.

Are our corporate State "leaders" preparing for this inevitability? Nope. Instead they wage brutal wars to grab what little oil is left, so they can wring the last drops of profit from our tormented planet.

I want to refine the wording a bit here. I wouldn't call Capitalism a cult in itself. But it leads to cultish organizations, because it concentrates political power into the hands of the few by way of concentrating capital. You could say that Amway or Landmark are cults that use capitalistic means to manipulate people. I've noticed that some work places have taken on a cultish atmosphere when they try to inculcate loyalty in employees by constant seminars and repitition of slogans. So I would be more specific about exactly what I would label as a cult.

You could also say that religion is a cult, but that would be just as vague as labeling capitalism as a cult. Religions do tend to concentrate Earthly power into the hands of a few charismatic leaders (who are supposed to represent the word of God), which can eventually form the basis for a lot of cult organizations. So, in short, I would say that Capitalism, like Religion, tends to set up the conditions for cults to flourish in.

Capitolism is not a cult. I does need to be regulated.
