There is an old adage stating "there are two sides to every coin." For interested people who would like to hear what successful graduates have to say (rather than drop-out's who seem intent on cultivating rumors and gossip), or learn more about what is REALLY being offered at the Center for Purposeful Living, you are invited to contact me directly at my CPA office 336-777-8811. You may also come to one of the Center for Purposeful Living's regularly scheduled open houses (Come and See weekend) where you can meet students and faculty or come at any time for a visit and tour. Sincerely, Susan B. Baggett President, Center for Purposeful Living |

Sometimes it amazes me how active the Center for Purposeful Living (aka University for Human Goodness aka Human Service Alliance) is in trying to debunk claims that it's not a cult. There is an entire page on the Center for Purposeful Living web site dedicated to the fact that they aren't a cult. That "FAQ" was created because of another thread here on FACTNet: http://www.factnet.org/discus/messages/4/3466.html?1118548696 I've also responded to their FAQ explaining that no matter how much the organization says they're not a cult they are indeed just that a cult: http://www.shortfamilyonline.com/life/archives/000829.php Of course, I'm not the only one that things the Center for Purposeful Living is doing bad. There are posts generated by other people on my own web site; so if my word (and the word of dozens upon dozens of others) isn't good enough then at least learn the true side of the organization: http://www.shortfamilyonline.com/life/archives/cat_cplhsaufhg.php As a matter of fact, two potential victims of this cult contacted me directly shortly after writing my first article on this subject and asked for more specifics. After explaining to them what they should be looking for they both decided to step away from the organization and find something more productive for themselves. All-in-all, the Center for Purposeful Living is the epitome of a cult and there are plenty of resources on the world wide web to prove that now. If you want to take the word of Susan B. Baggett you're more than welcome to. But, I'd prefer you take the word of a (former) son of one of their permanent board members and the family of the Center for Purposeful Living's "guru". |
