with all the other primers here, i figured i'd start my own. There are some things in the book concerning Darth Vader that aren't mentioned in the movie due to their not being a way to depict thought visually. Anakin Skywalker was deceived by the Emperor. Anakin was only interested in saving his wife and the Emperor used this as a tool to use Anakin for his own purposes. (we were only desiring to serve God and that desire was used for other purposes). As an end result he ended up becoming Darth Vader. In the book, once he was trapped in his life support system suit, his thoughts were that it was he that had done all the killing and betrayal. The only reason he stayed with the emperor was because he felt he didn't have anywhere else to go. So he stayed for years in that condition until his son luke skywalker was able to talk some sense into his head and he finally realized he didn't have to stay where he was at, he could be free. |
