As a lady, I have to tell you that two of the COOLEST things about being out of NTCC is: ONE: I have my first name back! And, I've actually found out the first name of others since departing the ranks of NTCC. It was understandable when I was in the military...and it was "Airman this" or "Sgt. that", but not in a church. I can understand..."sister" and "brother" proceeding someone's first name...and maybe last name too...but not for it to be the ONLY WAY to refer to folks. It is not disrespectful to call Sister Kekel. Tanya, or Sister Tanya...or whatever variation you so choose. And if they take offense at that...then it tells you something about their desire to be IMPORTANT. TWO: I have my own identity back. That is very exciting and liberating. My husband has asked me many times since we left: "What is it you would like to do?...for yourself?" I'm not sure exactly what I want to be when I grow up. But, to have choices set before me again is awesome. There were so many times I felt the Lord's urging to do certain things, but I could not, because it did not fit within the perameters of Davis's Laws. I hope that you ladies out there have fun (but not too much)...finding out who you are and what you are in God and in your family and to your friends. I'd love to hear your personal stories if you have the chance to drop me a line or an email. I wish you all the best. O.k., so I'm sappy sometimes...forgive me. Tracy |
