xman loves Leo and I love Greg Ball, even though the harshest things said on the web concerning this "thing" are about Greg. I guess it is the nature of this thing. Still, why did Greg Ball, the greatest Evangelist in MCM/MSI/EN, shut up? Do you think it was part of a buyout agreement from EN after they took over Champions for Christ and he left? Maybe it was a deal like, we will pay you a few grand but you have to shut up about the circumstances and EN in general? Do you think there is a legal agreement floating around out there, keeping Greg Ball silent? I think Champions for Christ is a corrupting influence on EN and is like distilled evil of Maranatha in many ways so maybe it is good Greg was delivered from it but still? Pro-Athletes also need Jesus though! |

may i quote my friend coppertree from the "Arizona Church" Topic over here: http://www.factnet.org/discus/messages/3/41100.html?1198745739 i think this explanation suits best...
quote:These churches are built on soulish connections. I see that difficultly some one has separating the two, the Spiritual and the natural. I see this as in the case of our brother X-man who explains that he feels a debt of sorts to Leo. I think that he is entwined with being saved by Leo, a pastor. This can become a soulish tie to someone because of the gospel as promoted by this group.

If that is what you fellows concluded from my posts, you are sadly mistaken. I could get in a war of words, but why bother. You don't know me at all, but those I care about do, and that's what matters in the long run. Have your fun at my expense if you want. I'll laugh along with you. |

my quotation is stupid, also... i need to explain myselve better: This can become a soulish tie to someone because of the gospel as promoted by this group. i was thinking the same, and looking for words, before switching over to the Arizona church topic... i cannot say anyting about you, xman, because i dont know you. sorry again! but having been a pastor myselve, i do know, that soulish connections get easily established, by converting and "discipling" people. i have also found it very difficult to avoid soulish connections in/during/after counseling. so - i agree: soulish connections easily get established, and i do believe that the discipleship thing in EN is a big force for this, if people (leaders as well as members) dont watch it. soulish connections are not necesarily bad in itselve, if people understand the boundaries and limits. unfortunately this is a problem in EN. because of the undermining teachings about authority, "spiritual family", "chosen generation", etcetc limits and boundaries - in my opnion - often get ignored... |

No problem at all Robert. Sorry I misunderstood. Copper is on my case lately and is misrepresenting me as an example unecessarily because he has a bug up his arse about leo. I'm a nice guy, but enough is enough. He's flat out wrong, and doesn't need to toss around these not so subtle digs. I do agree about the soulish ties though. Good and bad too. I always say, some of my best and deepest relationships came from that period long ago, including my beautiful wife. the negatives were more pronounced when involved or trying to leave. |

Hi All, I am sorry x-man if I offended you, it was in the front of my mind as I thought about Leo. I went to school with Leo, knew him before Maranatha. I saw the whole thing evolve with Leo from a long vantage point, so to speak. THe point that I wanted to say was that the gospel as used by this group, is different from a traditional one. Ul said it well the a post after mine. This group taking the place in my thoughts of the Holy Spirit. And of taking over the role of headship of our Lord. That was a jist of my post. I thought that is what you were saying about your memories of the time with the group. It meant no offense, rather I thought that it was brave of you to state that, about Leo. My purpose would be that Leo might read here, and see and get free as I think he , is bound by the same soulish tie that I posted about. I hope that you hear what I am saying and will forgive me.} |
