" THE RETURN OF KORESH" FEW PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THE NAME 'KORESH' MEANS AND WHY DAVID ADOPTED IT. KORESH IS AN ANCIENT HEBREW WORD TRANSLATED IN THE ENGLISH AS 'ANOINTED ONE '. DAVID HAD AQUIRED THE UNUSUAL GIFT OF BEING ABLE TO DECODE OR SEE THE BIBLE IN ANIMATED FLASHES. IN HIS YOUTH DAVID VISITED ISRAEL ONCE AND EXPERIENCED A TERRIFYING VISION OF GOD AND THE END TIMES. HE WITNESSED THE ENTIRE BOOK OF REVELATION IN A FAST COMIC STRIP LIKE SEQUENCE, BUT WAS TOLD TO KEEP THE MEANING TO HIMSELF. DAVID OFTEN TALKED ABOUT THE SEVEN SEALS AND DESCRIBED HIMSELF AS THE LAMB FULLFILLING THE SEALS. HE KNEW HE WOULD BE KILLED FOR HIS MESSAGE AND OFTEN WARNED HIS STUDENTS THAT THEY MIGHT BE KILLED TO FOR AQUIRING HIS SAME KNOWLEDGE. IN APRIL OF 1993, GOVERNMENT FORCES SURROUNDED THE BRANCH DAVIDIANS WITH TANKS , GUNSHIPS , AND OTHER WEAPONS AND DAVID WAS SLAIN AND THE ENTIRE MT. CARMEL COMPOUND WENT UP IN FLAMES. THIS SELF- PREDICTED FULLFILLMENT AS WELL AS MANY OTHER STRANGE COINCIDENCES HAVE CONVINCED MANY OF DAVID'S IDENTITY. THE EVENTUAL RETURN OF KORESH IS THE PROMISED HOPE TO MANY BRANCH DAVIDIANS WORLDWIDE. THE APPROXIMATE DATE APPEARS TO COINCIDE WITH THE MOVEMENT OF THE SAN ANDREAS FAULT LINE. |

So what that he adopted the name "Koresh" and that it means anointed, so what that he had revelation, so do a lot of people. Only Jesus is able to open those seals, full stop. |

Blinky, the Hebrew name "Koresh" doesn't mean, "anointed one" -- it means "cultivator, digger, farmer". ("Koresh" is a Hebrew transliteration of Cyrus, the Persian King who allowed the persecuted Jews in Babylon to return to Israel.) David also claimed that "Koresh" means "death,” which it doesn’t. A simple Hebrew dictionary proves this. (And adding the word “ancient” to Hebrew” isn’t needed!) Some of his followers believed that Koresh would return to Earth. Using Daniel 12:12, they thought it would have occurred 1,335 days after his death, which meant December 14, 1996. It didn't happen. The Hidden Manna faction of his cult believed that it would take place on August 6, 2000, and then when that date came and went, switched to October 20, 2000. It didn't happen. And now March 2012 is their new date. We’ll see. (But I doubt it.) |
