i remember reading some years ago in their watchtower mag that they believe only 166,000 (or whatever the number was) can only be saved. If thats the case why do they continuosly knock on peoples doors!!!!Surely they must have that magic figure by now. |

Dear kt1: The Bible speaks of one salvation by Jesus Christ with two hopes. Life in heaven (a new creation for a fixed number) and life on earth (without a number) the way God purposed it to be from the beginning. Revelation speaks of this in Chapter 7, where a numbered group, 144,000 is contrasted with an unnumbered group, a great crowd which no man was able to number. Those of the great crowd are to be joined by those sleeping in death on earth awaiting a resurrection. (See also 2 Peter 3:13). Their deep love for God and for neighbor (mankind) compels them to be obedient to the words found in the Bible to preach the Good News of God’s Kingdom (An actual Government of God, ruled by his Son) the only solution to all of mankind’s problems, until the end of this system of things at Armageddon. (Matthew 24:13, 14, and also Matthew 28: 19, 20). Hope this helps! P |

Hi KT1: Please pardon the tardiness of my reply as I was on vacation. You make it seem that life on earth, the way God purposed it, in the beginning, with Adam and Eve was and is horrible, as though God had a bad idea! Angels, God’s Heavenly family were made to reside in the heavens indefinitely. Humans were made to reside on earth also indefinitely, and without the sickness, death and evil we see today. What is so horrible about endless life on a perfectly cleansed earth? After all, Jesus said the “meek shall inherit the earth” not heaven! Life in heaven, after human life is spoken of in the bible as a new creation, thus again, the reason why there are two distinct groups of people that are saved, those saved to life in heaven, (a specific amount) and those (an unnumbered non specific amount) saved to life on a cleansed earth to fulfill God’s original purpose; after all, God does not make mistakes, (that is the critical difference between a human plan and a Godly purpose) and will fulfill his purpose toward the earth and humans. Thus you are right; "well, bang goes the theory of everyone goes to heaven then they die [sic] then if they beleive in God." Sincerely, P |
