Are these the words of a prophetess? Study the words and the Scriptures and make your own choice. I cannot send myself and my family back to a non-Pentecostal/Charismatic Church for this reason. To me this is correct and logical. "The work will be similar to that of the Day of Pentecost. As the "former rain" was given, in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the opening of the gospel, to cause the upspringing of the precious seed, to the "latter rain" will be given at its close for the ripening of the harvest. "Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord; His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain upon the earth." Hosea 6:3. "Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain." Joel 2:23. "In the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh." "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Acts 2:17, 21 The great work of the gospel is not to close with less manifestation of the power of God than marked its opening. The prophecies which were fulfilled in the outpouring of the former rain at the opening of the gospel are again to be fulfilled in the latter rain at its close. Here are "the times of refreshing" to which the apostle Peter looked and forward when he said, "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and He sha send Jesus." Acts 3:19,20 Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given. MIRACLES WILL BE WROUGHT, THE SICK WILL BE HEALED, AND SIGNS AND WONDERS WILL FOLLOW THE BELIEVERS. SATAN ALSO WORKS, WITH LYING WONDERS, even bringing down fire from heaven in the sight of men. Revelation 13:13. Thus the inhabitants of the earth will brough to take their stand." This is a great history book. The Great Controversy Between Chirst and Satan - The Conflict of the Ages in the Christian Dispensation By Ellen G. White Pacific Press Publication 1950. pages 611-612. |

Ha, ha It's a good, valid, reference book on my shelf. It's the only "Adventist" book other than my Great Grandpa's that I have. I would buy it from the Seventh-Day Adventist gentleman again if he came to my door. |

Eastline, Are you, or have you been, a full time minister in a Pentecostal church? Have you ever see the horrible abuses of pastoral power? Have you ever seen the horrible display of extra-biblical spiritual practices (or, do you condone all practices and accept them as from God, regardless if they have a foundation in the scriptures)? I do embrace the authentic manifestations of the Spirt. However, they are not common in the P/C church's in the USA. |

Bear, Answers, No. Yes, to the max, and I have chosen to forgive them. I was involved in the Shepherding Movement and their were terrible abuses. No, I disagree with the laughing movement for example. I disagree with any manifestation not found in Holy Scripture. You and I both in the past have Post about the demonic aspects of these problems. Yes, I agree with you. Forgive me if I offended you from my other post. Sometimes I get flippant, but I could never go to the Non-Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches that some of my best friends are going to. My wife and I believe it's heresy, rejecting all words that Jesus said regarding faith. Think back my friend. You have seen my posts in the past, I have just taken a vacation. If I sound a little bit jovial it's probably because I had too much...oh I can't say that I drink champagne on Thanksgiving here...lol |

eastline, There is not even a hint of offense. I enjoy a good exchange of opinion, even if they are oppossing. BTW, there is not anything wrong with a little champagne. I prefer a good Merlot myself. Actually, I live very close to a winery here in Michigan, and I enjoy a glass every once and a while. |

atm, Now that is funny. Actually, it has been close to a year since I visited the winery, for I only have a glass of wine on occasion. On my visit I tasted two different types of wine; hardley enough for two swallows, The name of the winery is St Julians in Paw Paw, MI, and the local cow shoot-off was canceled due to the weather. What is "weedry"? |

Mr. St Julians: "Weedery"? I couldn't think of any thing to call a weed/grass (maryjane) factory. St Julians is the name of a nuclear depository I worked in for three years. St. J's sits in a city of 7,000,000 people who have no idea what is going on under their noses. Back to the encyclopedia, paw paw? now what is that? Back several centuries ago when I was stationed in California, we visited several wineries. I also enjoyed touring the French wineries while skiing the Alps. |

Thank you Mr. Arron, I will be happy to tell you about my trip to a whore house. Back several years ago, I joined a group known as “Project Handclasp.” We went to a Pacific Island to build an orphanage. Now I am going to give you a reason to hate Baptist. Later, I may teach you to hate Romans. Unfortunately, your religion is not involved in humanitarian missions, so we won’t discuss them. Anyway, this trip was to assist a Baptist missionary and his wife build an orphanage in the jungle. We flew in on a military cargo flight in the heat of summer. We were near the Equator. After deplaning, we boarded a bus. The bus was so old I have no idea what brand it was or even a wild guess as to age. It may have been left by the Flintstones. We began the trip into the jungle during the midday heat. The bus’ windows had been boarded over to keep out non-paying passengers, not to mention fresh air. When the bus died, we were told the orphanage (future) was up the mountain. The clearing in the jungle was nearly two clicks (kilometers) up the side of the mountain. Our supplies were at the bottom of the hill. Sweating unbelievably, we walked into the most disgusting sight one has ever seen. In a clearing, perhaps 300 feet in diameter, were fourteen diaper less girls ranging in age from birth to ten years-old. The only shelter from the weather were some pieces of cardboard and a few old pallets. Sewage was everywhere. There were twenty-six, mostly adolescent, boys who had come to help. We certainly had the best relief in the world with us, Pampers! We built a sixteen by twenty shelter from cinder block and put a tin roof on it. It took us five or six days from start to finish. We had time left before the flight home. So we asked the Baptist missionary to take us to town. You can ask someone what a teenager might want to go to town for Mr. Arron. I am quiet sure you don’t remember. The missionary agreed to take us in the cool of the evening. We left the clearing around four in the afternoon to walk the ten miles to town. We did not ask the missionary but he took us to the back door of a whore house. He also introduced us to the owner. The owner was thirteen-years-old, she had three children. She was dying of syphilis. The next girl in line was eleven-years-old and had four children, she too was dying from syphilis. The rest of the girls ranged in age from three years to eleven. All had some form of venereal disease. Many had multiple children. Most had been deflowered by their country’s military at or near five-years-old. Their fathers’ sold them into prostitution during their first days of life. The girls offered us a beer or a bottle of pop. I don’t recall any of the boys accepting or speaking. After the missionary went out the door, we all followed, one by one into the darkness, lost in our own tears & thoughts. Before we left the next morning, I followed the missionary into the jungle. We found a three-day-old-girl abandoned by her mother. Now you know what I was doing in a whore house. |

Aaron, Sometimes people need more than just "would you like to be saved from sin". Have you ever done any humanitarian missions? If not, why? |
