Looking back at my short and unsweet time in KPIC, there was a lot there that still makes me wonder, "How in the world could they have gotten it so wrong?" Here was a church that was one of the few even remotely integrated churches in the Triangle--one that walked the walk and talked the talk on racial reconcilliation (and still does--how many churches in this part of the country have a youth ministry headed by an interracial couple). They attract people whom you normally wouldn't see in church down here. I saw a sizeable number of shaved heads, body piercings, what not. And yet ... all the lunacy, the guilt-tripping ... ten years later, it still baffles me how a church that potentially had so much going for it couldn't just cut the cord to its Maranatha past. |

I'll tell you one thing that mystifies me a little. I very carefully read a whole bunch of Steve Murrell's stuff on the EN site. Everything I read tells me he is aware of, and dealing with almost all of the worst things that have been discussed here at factnet, yet I still hear new people coming in with stories of some of the same type of things happening. I wonder why his efforts aren't filtering down to all of the churches as a matter of course these days. On the surface, I find no fault with him and find his postings and writings to be very humble and pro-active. I liked him when I met him, have some friends who were there and really liked him, and really like what he writes- yet they go and do something like affiliate with Phil B once again. Some of that mystifies me a bit. |

The reason is Because Steve M have a bunch of minions under him that is doing the abuses and Steve M. refuses to do anything about it. Steve refuse to discipline his very own people or his friends, people like Rice brookes and Phil Bonasso. That tells me that he is a man pleaser. I spoke with people who is really close to Steve M. They told me, he may preach about forgiveness but he does not practice it. These are people who have seen it first hand. He just simply does not practice what he preach. |

yet they go and do something like affiliate with Phil B once again. Some of that mystifies me a bit. For me Xman, it's not so much that they affiliate with Phil that is mystifying, but the fact that with all of the foreknowledge of abuses, they've so quickly allowed Phil to return to the pulpit, and have allowed him to attempt to start up another campus ministry. I really do hope there has been change and Phil is no longer controlling over people. From what I have been hearing from former leaders, it doesn't seem to be the case. I guess time will tell . . . but in my opinion, if it's even only one student at UC Irvine that gets messed over, that is one student too many. The fact that everything seems to be glossed over, I think is very telling and revealing. One of the posters a good while back . . . I think it might have been Tikie, but my memory fails me . . . predicted that this reinstatement of Phil would happen. The fact that EN won't open the books as promised, is also very telling and revealing, I think. If things are above board, they could reassure a lot of people by doing this simple act. |

Steve refuse to discipline his very own people or his friends, people like Rice brookes and Phil Bonasso. That tells me that he is a man pleaser. Or his influence is to small to do anything about it. or his ideology is wrong (sheperding, submission, authority, covenant... etc) and keeps him from doing the right things. |

EN/VCF has a term for it, its called Generational Curse. No matter how much they say they repent, they kept repeating the same sins. It looked like their teaching of own healing and deliverance does not work. |
