Having a father who is a veteran and has been very politically active in his life, I am curious about what people in the community are told concerning current events. DO any of them vote or know who is running for President (or who is President for that matter). I was told there is no television and don't know if members listen to radio or read newspapers. Do the young people register for the military or sign as consciensious objectors? I am curious. |

If you don't mind, Whereto2, our family devotions last night and tonight were concerning the teachings of the Twelve Tribes. We went on their site and used some literature my father brought home and studied the Scriptures in them to be better enlightened about their teachings. Whether you accept it or not, there are some of us with enough intelligence to read Scriptures and ask for God's guidance as to what to do with our lives. My family has had many constructive open-minded studies on their teachings. If we weren't interested in seeing if this is what is right for our lives, we wouldn't take time to study. I chose to posts questions that came up in discussion. Since my understand that noone from Twelve Tribes will be online while preparing for the Sabbath, I thought I would ask here. I'M SORRY IF I FORGOT TO GET YOUR PERMISSION. My father told us he wanted to invite a few of the members for a visit and asked our opinion. I am fed up with your condemnation at every turn and since you seem to be the one representing the opinion of the Tribes on here, my vote as of now is definitely NO. I no longer am interested in any group with so much condemnation of everybody who doesn't believe like them or are seeking answers. As far as I am concerned, I no longer wany to hear from any of you who are members or defenders of this type of attitude. You just lost of possible visitor to the comminity. daddysgirl, Whereto is not a member of the twelve tribes. I know you said you didn't want to hear from anyone who defends even defends the twelve tribes, but I think I could help answer some of your questions since I have pondered them myself. Please don't judge the twelve tribes or me by how you feel about posts by whereto. http://www.twelvetribes.com/faq/war.html |

daddysgirl, The twelve tribe's website has a great key word search. Yet, I still have many questions too, but I have refrained from asking them here, because I know that soon enough I will get the chance to ask the appropriate people, and their answers always blow me away, there is no bitterness and so much wisdom. So for me, it is worth the wait. |

daddysgirl, Just one more thing, I feel sort of bad for whereto, because all he really said was, "if you are curious, why dont you just call anyone or someone in an any of the communities and ask?" I don't hear any condemnation in his suggestion to you. It seems to me you are being unfair in your conclusions about him and the twelve tribes. I hope you will reconsider. |

"now that you have asked i am sure the usual wolf will be crying soon..." Truth_seeker: Every time I post or my cousins post, Whereto2 has a comment that seem to tellus were wrong about something. Is it he doesn't think women should speak or that we (Babylon Harlot Christians) should be silenced. that is my problem with his unholy attitude. |

there you go asking questions in the wrong place again... anyway... i have not lost a visitor... you are not comming to visit me... you dont even know me or where i live... its silly for you to presume i am a member of the twelve tribes... but that is what this board does best... is bring out presumptions and accusations... you may not like my defense style, however that does not really matter at this point... you can continue to presume all you like... assume... and draw any conclusion or judgement you wish... again... that is why this board exists... i honestly dont think anyone who frequents this board will ever become apart of the twelve tribes anyway... this is a fruitless place where lost souls come to continue getting lost... if you dont wanna hear from me or how i defend a people i see constantly receiving what you judge me as doing then go away... no one has to come here... your reasons for not being a 'possible visitor' are baseless and presumptive... but again.. that is the very essence of this board... no im not 'holy', and neither are you... no one on this board or in christianity is an ensample of a disciple of messiah... thats what the twelve tribes earnestly strive for day and night... i wouldnt even claim anyone is rightous... out here things are an eye for an eye... thats how it works... so get used to it... |

First off, Im not sure of whereto2s gender, unless I missed it somewhere. So I am assuming Im the "Big Bad Wolf"! But I dont cry! I howl and growl! If you read truth_seekers TT link you can see that they feel they are the restoration of the old Priesthood and they have put themselves back under the "Law"! Funny how Paul speaks so adamantly against doing such things in the book of Galatians. Did Yahshua mention anything about this? About becoming a new "Priesthood"? He said he came to "complete" the law...and His last words were "It is finished"!!! Funny how it was a man who claimed "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. Under Gamaliel I was thoroughly trained in the Law of our fathers and was just as zealous for God as any of you are today." was the one who spoke of this new "Preisthood" but also spoke against putting yourself back under the law! Then why do the TT men wear their hair modeled after the priests of old? All the TTs traditions, culture and lives are based on the "Law"! Daddysgirl and Unknowunsure... I dont think it would be a bad Idea for you to go visit and have a meeting with the elders and ask these questions you have but I suggest you bring your father/uncle with you. You might get bowled over by those who are practiced at defending their doctrines. I might get ugly... Or even better yet, go to one of their open forums at one of their cafes. You could even go incognito and catch them "off-gaurd"! http://www.twelvetribes.com/current/ About voting, they do not... They do pray for Gods will to be done in all elections. They pray for "men of conscience (gentiles, men of the nations) to be placed in positions of authority". Especially the Mayors and Sheriffs etc... in the towns they live in... One more thing...if you read that link TS posted you will see that the TT thinks you do not know God!!! No one does except them!!! "The nations or Gentiles spoken of here are the people who don't know God (as it is translated in the New Century Version), even though many of them are religious or conscientious, striving to obey their consciences and do what is right. No, the young men do not register for the Selective Service and I have seen where the letters for certain young men in the tribes have been sent back "No longer at this address" by elders, were they indeed lived. I also have seen young men moved around to avoid detection from the Selective Service. Im not saying that they should serve but they should be more forthright in how they avoid serving. There are other ways. The Amish do it! And yes they could register as a C.O. but that doesnt mean they couldnt be drafted into a non-combat position. |

"i honestly dont think anyone who frequents this board will ever become apart of the twelve tribes anyway... this is a fruitless place where lost souls come to continue getting lost... " does this include you, whereto2? Are you being judged out of your own mouth? Similar to another thread where you referred to those who repeated themselves over and over as fools and that is exactly what you were doing. "but that is what this board does best... is bring out presumptions and accusations... " and you don't constantly judge and accuse? Look in the mirror. I sincerely hope that someone from Twelve Tribes contacts you someday and discusses with you how much damage you are causing the people you defend. You are not helping their cause with your attitude. |

yeh right... im damaging the people i defend... if someone like you is lead astray but what i am saying... then you dont seek the most high and should not be among the twelve tribes anyway... im doing them a favor by keeping you away from them... between naba and I we will easily weed em out... |

Whereto2, "this is a fruitless place where lost souls come to continue getting lost..." Whats that make you? The blind leading the blind? The thing is, I went into the Tribes wearing rose colored glasses and I believe it was actually God who knocked them off to where I could see clearly and when He did, I beat feet outta there! No the reason this board is here is http://www.factnet.org/mission.htm and as far as being partnered with whereto2... I'd have to go on a waiting period with her first! but seriously, whereto2 is just another sinner like me so I guess were in the same boat as the rest of the world! We are all children of God! Ironic thing is, if and when whereto2 gets up the courage and decides they want to actually join the TT, the Tribes might have something else in mind!!! Nabashalam, Thank you for answering my original questions. I don't know why asking was such a big deal. Noone was trying to trap anyone or start a controversy. I am happy that they pray for our leaders. The reason the question came up in our discussion about military is we noticed that Yoneq had served with distinction in the military. I respected him for that. So it was nothing negative. I look up to those who are willing to serve to protect our rights and freedoms of expression, belief, and pursuit of happiness. Thank you, Nabash. |

whereto, How are you? You know, sometimes I get so scared because I'm vividly aware of the wages of my sins. But, what else can I do but hope in God's grace? I believe God is just, but can we also believe he is gracious? Do you think he is gracious enough to bear with those who are seeking Him? What if we get mad and it is because of our rebellion against him and we don't even realize it? Do you think He would forgive us and still help us to find Him? I think God is more righteous than we give him credit for sometimes. Don't you hope he is patient with you too? Maybe if you could believe that, you could believe in his patience with others. Care, truth_seeker |

Daddysgirl, One more thing, they do not read magazines, newspapers or listen to radio. The only music you would hear is their own and they have their own recordings also. They have a multitude of talented musicians. They use to have "Current Events" gatherings for all those who where baptised. A trusted elder would gather and "discern" certain news items and talk about them and there spiritual significance. I used to really look forward to them because I was so news starved for anything outside of their teachings. Now there are those who are considered to have "grace" enough to read papers and discern for themselves what was good and what was not,but that was not for your common disciple and the reading of a paper was not for entertainment purposes either. Same goes for the internet. You might get "covered" to email but they use the internet for business and proselytizing purposes only. Where did you get this information about Nun? BTW thats how it is spelled in english but pronounced Noone. I lived with Him and his family in Brunswick, Ga. when I was on the boat! And that info on Yoneqs service record seems a bit fishy to me. Remember that the TT edited and rewrote all the wikipedia entries about Spriggs and about the TT! How could he have been such a good soldier when it looks as if he didnt even serve a full enlistment! It says in several places on the web that he joined the Army in 62 and he was out working in several other jobs in 63!!! http://www.culthelp.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2420&Itemid=8 Dont believe all that you read!!! Especially when its coming from the TTs public relations swat team! Read the third article on this page.... http://iottc.blogspot.com/ (Message edited by nabashalam on September 01, 2007) |
