I have a question I hope someone can help me with. My wife and I are having some marriage problems right now. I received a call from her today and she told me that she went to see a palm reader today at lunch and the lady told her that I was not her soulmate and in 2 years we will get divorsed and she will meet a younger man that will give her everything she ever wanted in live. She grew up as a JW and she has taught me a lot about the bible. I grew up with out the oppertunity to study the bible and have learned a lot from her in the last 8 years. My question is how and where do these palm readers get this information because they sold her on it and she beleived everything. They told her about her childhood and her current life. She told my wife that I commited adultery while we have been married and I have not and would never be with another woman. I am very confused and any feed back would be great.

Calihawk:

I don’t know if anyone here can help you with your particular situation, I know that JW’s don’t believe in palmistry as the Bible frowns on practices like that, which means they do too.

Have you tried marriage counseling? It appears you love your wife and want to stay in your marriage; good for you! From what you express, it seems that your wife may be fascinated with the occult, and is looking for advice from that source which is not reliable source for information.

You express you are confused, however, you clearly know what you want and that is you wife and marriage, so good for you, as this is an important step. Now seek help for yourself and your wife from good sources, and counseling may be a good start.

I wish you well with your situation.

Sincerely,

P

if you want to keep your marriage together, it would be best if your wife could get the jw stuff out of her system....... then she could see more clearly what to do.
see if you can get her to read some of the posts on some of the ex-jw sites....... type in "jehovah's witnesses", and go to the sites that are for helping ex-members.

really, jw leadership are worse than any palm readers she will ever come across.
the jw indoctrination is much more wicked and hard to shake off.

Dear Calihawk,

As a student of psychology and someone interested in body, mind, spirit, and soul, I'd like to add my 2-cents.

It sounds to me like your wife was looking for someone to tell her exactly what she was told. If you want to save the marriage, couples counseling may be your best course of action.

MOST palm readers are very clever frauds. They use various techniques to trick and lead a mark.

This is an area I personally avoid because you can never be sure if a palm reader is a fraud, dabbling in the dark side, or the genuine article (a highly sensitive intuitive that can give you some general guidelines that may be helpful and accurate).

Also, as a former JW, if your wife hasn't dealt with any leftovers from that time in her psyche, then that could make her susceptible to strong personalities and persuasive people.

Warmly,

Maria Bee
