I heard from a friend that Helen Pike from Maine, who worked in the mail room in Lenox and who used to live in Bassett Hall with her two daughters in the late 70s and early 80s recently passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was a dear friend to me in those days and I'm sure many of you remember her with fondness and love. |

Oh my. Twas dear Helen who taught me that God could love even me. She had just left Lenox and came to work at a retirement home as a cook where I worked, just in time to introduce me to a Father that loved me and had purchased my soul with love that was a verb. What a wonderful sense of fun, humor and just that marvelous little wicked grin that made me love her. She is and will always be someone in my life and memory I treasure. God bless you, Helen. You'll always be in my sweetest of memories. Thank you for letting us know, Jim. |

She was absolutely the salt of the earth, I remember her from way back in the Scarborough ministry days. Absolutely no doubt where that true woman of God is today. It was a gift to me, to have known her. Thanks for letting us know Jim. |

In memory of Helen. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. :14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. :15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. :16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: :17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. See you there Helen. } |
