Some of you are friends with my father, Randy Spenser, and know he has had two strokes in the past year. After running many tests at the VA hospital, the doctors found that physically he is making incredible gains and will likely fully recover movements and clear speech. The bad news is that the strokes have taken a big toll on his memory and logic. Those that know him well know he was Blessed with a great intellect to go with his big heart. Right now we are having to work with him on retention exercises for some times he forgets something thast happened even five minutes previously. For a man who loved reasoning with people talking to them, he is now embarrassed to talk to them because of his slight speech impediment and his memory difficulties. Please keep dad in your prayers as well as my sister who is having trouble handling these problems. With Love, Misti |

Misti, Please tell Dad that I'll be seeking God on His behalf. Please tell him to receive the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, during this difficult time for him. He feels embarrased, I understand, but he is a hero of mine. Love, Anon |

Just a quick update. Dad got out and drove today which was the first time since the strokes. It may be small to some but for me a reason to rejoice. (Message edited by daddysgirl on July 30, 2007) |

thank you Nabashalam and Anon for your wishes and prayers. For now I have taken over the responsibilities of our family business and farm until my father gets so he can handle it. I am hoping he will get out in a few weeks to travel again which he loves to do. He always wants to feel useful as do we all. I know he wants to visit somewhere in Tennessee to see some people there he was to visit previously. It may help him. |

Update... My Father is doing so much better. He is getting most of his functions back quickly and his memory is doing much better in the past week. Thanks for the prayers. Thank Abba for His Love. |

Two bits of news. First... After 30 years which in Kentucky makes me an old maid... On my Father's Birthday this December, I am getting married. I have met an awesome man and we are very happy together. At that time I will be moving to North Carolina. Second... Due to message one and due to my Father's health, we are selling the farm in Kentucky and some of our business interests and my Father is retiring. His plan is to buy some land (location, sorry I can't say yet), and do something totally different with life that includes reaching others. Thank you all for prayers and loving kindness you have shown. |

Correction, only part of the farm technically is being sold, part donated to others. One house will be kept, but WE will no longer be farming it. |

Thank you, Nabashalam. Dad will keep busy doing something he loves the most, seeing the needs of others are taken care of and travelling. He is planning in the next few weeks to contact a group that will be Blessed with some land. He said he will be willing to come there from time to time to teach them how to run a farm. He also hopes to go back to Israel to host and teach another tour in the spring. Exciting for me though, is Dad is going to be the minister that conducts my wedding and sing at it for me. That is incerdible to me because we came so close to losing him less than a year ago. At one point the doctors called all the familyt in and thought he wouldn;'t last even overnight. May the Father be Praised for His Healing power. He ain't done with Dad yet! |
