Hello to all, Today is the last day, or so it seems, and wanted to start a thread for every to say bye in their own corky and fun way. If you've bit your tongue over the days then let it rip now! Just don't put your foot in your mouth- just be wise, tactful, and thoughtful. After all we've come to get to know each other in so many ways. Chances are, there won't be any new members to join today, but those who have joined in the past MUST say a quick bye. Just because some come more often then others it doesn't mean you are any less appreciated. We certainly have appreciated you- even after the End-of-the-Day! We do plan on keeping in touch- especially available to those who may find themselves trying to understand the church they have found themselves in. When it comes to doctrine, pastors, the youth, religious movements, cultist teachings and/or being, abuse, prayer, discussion and searching the Word, church history, and the list goes on- we will be around to speak with those, like those who found factnet...just as I have! I also wanna say thank you to factnet! Thank you. If for some reason you were to ever come back up, it would be great news to all of us. Maybe not to some cults, but certainly for us. Those who have learned the value in meeting those who have been taking advantage of.... a trusting soul. Again thank you. Someone please provide the mcm site link below! Also, if anyone could take a moment to compare each of us to some famous character- in a silly and fun way- then please do. I think that Ms. Robinson idea was good- or anything similar to it. I know most of you guys are a bit older then me, but when I was a kid I was only allowed to watch the older decent shows, so I might know the characters you bring up. Alrighty everyone, God bless! Hey Jay, So, you think this is really the end for factnet? I haven't been posting much lately but I have been paying attention. This board was very helpful to me as I came out of MSI/EN. Thanks to factnet and to everyone posting here over the years. A special thanks to ULyankee, Ginger, brick upcase20... I am still struggling with finding a place in the world or organized christianity. But, I am thankful that I am out of the hyper-emotional brain dead place that I had been in for so many years while in msi/en. The healing continues. Factnet and it's users served the Lord well. We say the truth get to LCC before they joined in. We saw the vote of lack of confidence in Rice Broocks. We saw so many individual lives supported as they got out. I think West was my favorite story to follow. I will give thought to the famous character question. As you saw from my lack of participation on the bunny trail, that kind of thing doesn't come to me easily. But, I do enjoy other's funny thoughts. God bless you all. LC_20 | ||

If FACTNet does, indeed, close down, those who wish to continue some of these discussions may certainly do so here where there is a category devoted to "cultbusting" and a forum already started on MCM/MSI/EN stuff. As well as the new and improved Cuckoo's Nest. In the interim, I'll express my appreciation for this place and for most of those who I've met in participating. Keep your eyes open and when someone tries to sell you something that is too good to be true, 99.9999% of the time it is! God bless! | ||

Thanks for the mention IC_20. I learned so much from everyone on this board, which I discovered by accident when I was trying to find the location of my old church and wondered what happened to it. I still see this church as a cult run by a few charasmatic leaders whose only purpose is to manipulate people for their own ends. | ||

It took someone explaining it to me for me to realize there is a lower case and upcase. I have always enjoyed both of your posts. I have also learned so much here. I miss BIll Mack and I personally thank him for starting this site. I wish I would not have had to learn the things about the NOLR and things I had no idea about before this board, but I have to believe that God has his way of revealing things. I came to this board to find out about my church and found out more about THE CHURCH, and it's been a lot to take in and process. I hope fact net continues. There is coming a time that finding the truth and understanding cults will be even more important. | ||

Hey all... just got back to the States. Not quite back home but back in the US. I`m glad that a couple more days have been added to the counter and that it didn`t disappear while I was gone. Is anyone besides Robert mirroring these threads for posterity? I tried to last week using httrack before I left but it took 6 hours just to download 2 gb before I had to get offline and this is 13 gb I think!!! But if this is really nearing the end, ciao and God bless. I hope I have helped others as you all have certainly helped me! BTW, I think a certain presentation that a certain person made over the weekend went ok even if it was very brief (20 min). Or so that person was told. | ||

Hi LC, no, not really, other than finding out that open discussions on the Net are having similar impact across the board in other groups. Also confirmed that the MSI/EN experience (and MCM) is very similar to other "high demand" groups whether Bible based or not. Lifton, Singer, et al really do apply. Though Latter Rain & Shepherding beliefs & practices are certainly getting a second look b/c of how what was once controversial has become mainstream and also due to the influence on public & foreign policy & not just here in the US. There is concern about how cultic elements in general are becoming mainstream, how that happens, and how to address it. I really hope FACTNet doesn't go down b/c it's had a huge impact and not just on our little world of MCM/MSI/EN. | ||
