These freepapers are eternal life - the Word of God. - Reading our free papers When people see us (community members) it will be the same as seeing God. - Circumcision of faith 2 Passing on books to our children is like Jim Jones passing out kool aid. - Books for our children If one goes to a restaurant they are being served by homosexuals. - Homosexuals and lesbians If we aren't for Him He sometimes leads us into temptation. - A seed preserved/serene confidence |

Does he really say things like that? I'm just sort of shocked. What's with the line about the books? Do TTers not read books? just curious |

Annie! Want your change back? He was speaking of books brought into the community. Ones you owned in the world and havent been approved by the "anointing". One of his favorite quotes is: "Dont ever say"Yoneq says..." I also heard him say: "Someone who spits on the sidewalk is going to the Lake of Fire!" |

He also told me to be careful who I give freepapers to and speak the gospel to, especially relatives. Because if you do, and they dont receive you, you are condemning them to the Lake of Fire.... Ironically, we used to hand out free papers like candy on Fat Tuesday! |

Free Papers are the Twelve Tribes evangelistic pamphlets they hand out... Fat Tues is the day of the big parade at Mardi Gras! The day before Lent starts and people pig out! Candy and beads are strewn out to all the people watching the parade!!!! |

Just before I left there was a teaching about books. They are very careful about the sort of books the children read, not only the content but also the pictures. Mainly because they don't want to give the children any opportunity to engage in fantasy/role play. We were told if we gave them books that had been bound by the world it was like we were binding our children to the world. The next day everyone collected all the childrens books that had not been written and printed by the community and disposed of them. |

Hello everyone, my name is Suanne Elisabeth and I'm a documentary filmmaker from Ithaca, New York. I focus on social issues and because I'm from Ithaca, the Twelve Tribe community is a social issue in our neighborhood. I've been speaking to quite a few ex members in my area and I would like to extend an invitation to this discussion group to whoever would like to participate in my research. I intend to visit every Twelve Tribe community in this nation starting in August. I may be traveling through your area and if you'd like to meet with me, please contact me at ambergeeproductions@yahoo.com so we can talk before I arrive to your town. I was an abused child...when I read postings that this group is abusive towards children, I felt I had to explore the situation because they live in my community also. My intention is not to bash the Twelve Tribes, though I imagine there will be plenty of that but to give both positive AND negative experiences so the audience can come to their own conclusion. If you'd like to offer information off camera that could be helpful as I travel around, I'd be very grateful. I care about all of you, ones in the community equally as the ones who have left. Be well, and I hope to hear from you soon. Much Thanks, Suanne |

Hi Suanne, Thank you for your post. You said that your intent was not to bash the TT's, but you didn't really indicated what your purpose was and what you intend to do with the information. Would you be able to clarify? Thanks! Anon |

"What's the purpose"?, I don't know anon, maybe there isn't any purpose. Maybe I'm completely wasting my time. I'll find that out soon enough. But I will say, when I do a documentary, I don't have any plan of action, I let the path guide me instead of creating a path and sticking to it. I've received quite a few emails from some wonderful people that I can't wait to meet. I guess I want to give them any opportunity to tell their story, maybe open up to the public, to educate, maybe I'll ask the people who want to interview, "what is your purpose for talking with me?" So far, the people who I've met online seem like regular people who have wonderful hearts and were looking to hang with people like themselves, loving people. It's early in my research but I'm gathering that there was a lot of misleading going on in the Tribes and things ran amok. I know that when I talk to the community in Ithaca, I'm surrounded by beautiful people. I can understand how the life can be very appealing because it seems like a perfect way to live when they describe it. Obviously, that isn't the case. "What is my intention with the information"? well, my intention is not to demonize the whole group if the whole group hasn't done things wrong. Clearly there are good people in the TT so when I say I'm not going to bash them, I mean I, personally, am not going to bash them. You can do whatever you want in an interview, but I would like to suggest this, I would prefer that we, meaning me the interviewer and you the interviewee, don't behave like they do. I don't judge them, they're people, God's people like all of us. I'll give every TT community a chance to interview and say whatever they want without judgement from me. I'll do the same with people who have left the communities. I plan to talk to local gov't officials, merchants, neighbohoods, etc. I'll get in my vehicle, with my german shepard, and we'll visit all the communities, I'll have interviews scheduled, but mostly I'll see what is put in front of me by walking the path. I'm not some person looking for a story to capitalize on... I have a strong faith in the Higher Power and I don't like seeing his love be corrupted. I was abused both sexually and physically, as a child, I don't like seeing anyone else experience such a thing. The Twelve Tribes have done both and if they want, they can comment on it, if they don't, there are plenty of people who will. I enter this project with no intentions but to find out for myself and share with anyone who wants to know what I have discovered. The documentary will be a story about me learning about the story of you... |

Before visiting one of the communities you might want to check with the TT members first if you have to leave your dog in the car or in the garden. Ully |

My dog stays in the van, and as far as overnight visits, I'll be staying at campgrounds. My shepard, is just that, a shepard. She watches over the van (which we lived in for a whole year, last year, while doing a documentary called "Homeless by Choice") and she takes her job very seriously. She stays up all night while I sleep and protects me. My dog goes everywhere with me and if that ever became a problem, I would just move on without the interview. She's been around this country with me for the last four years, and if you ever meet us, you'll know I can sleep soundly at campgrounds, Walmart parking lots, along the road, and on deserted streets or anywhere else I can legally park. She's quite vocal when you approach me or the vehicle, so for the most part, she'll be parked a ways away so I can talk with folks. Thank you for the information though, I did read somewhere, that the tribes aren't allowed pets and most children grow up nervous around cats and dogs. I totally respect that and I wouldn't want to scare the children. NO DOGS ALLOWED...especially mine, lol! |

The TT teaches that dogs are "miscreants". That they are not fulfilling what they were created for, and that was to clean the earth of carnage. In other words, scavengers, and were never meant to be pets...and are considered unclean. But it sounds like your dog is fulfilling quite an honorable purpose! Speaking of unclean! You wont see this but when you visit a community and eat there, they will wash your plates and utensils separately in bleach water. You are considered an unclean Gentile and could spread the "plagues of the world" in their "camp"... |

When your world is full of 'clean' and 'unclean' people and things you are in a cult or your mind is under the control of one. End of story. Run, do not walk to the exits and trample any and all that get in your way. |

I'm free of that now ambergee. My warning is for others. I spent over 30 years in Christianity and I wish someone would have given me that advise early on. No I never ran, I stayed and got screwed over. I eventually left. I'm apparently rather slow. It should be clear that what is going on in the TT is nothing but mind control. TT is a cult and Yoneq is a manipulative disingenuous control freak. Everyone should cultivate a healthy fear of those trying to use mind control techniques on them just like you have a healthy fear of electricity. Anyone would be a fool not too. |

This might be to weird for most folk...we need to "fear" the Eternal One, the consuming fire! For men that are like you decribed or false prophets in general...the Torah explains that in black and white...but of coarse we live in a "chr-stian" country and we are all covered by the grace of Jes-s Chr-st". Shalom,Shalom! TQ |

'Speaking of unclean! You wont see this but when you visit a community and eat there, they will wash your plates and utensils separately in bleach water. You are considered an unclean Gentile and could spread the "plagues of the world" in their "camp"...' hardly the case... i happily washed my own dish and the dishes of other guests right along side everyone else... to even suggest they had some 'hidden' sink somewhere else in the busy house is definitely the most foolish statement I have heard made about the community yet... 'Thomas.... I'm just trying to give ambergee some info for her documentary... ' indeed amber... the only info you will get from those on this board is foolishness... i encourage you to include it in you 'documentary'... |

Quote from a Twelve Tribes teaching: "People from the outside come in and bring things in every time. Just use common sense. When we have guests just make sure you don't just offend a guest. We are not here to offend guests. We don't treat guests like dogs. We don't tell a guest, "Put your plate over here. We treat it separately." Don't offend guests. Yesterday we offended a guest by making him put his plate in a separate place from our own dishes. You don't need to let a guest know that we have guest dishes. Common sense or life dictates that. We are supposed to have common sense. If you have common sense you don't tell a guest that he is a dog. We all were dogs. But if it had continued when we came here that we were treated like dogs we would not have stayed around the community. Treat guests like you treat Yahshua, with the utmost respect. The person that mistreated the guest needs to contact that guest and apologize to him. They need to make everything right again." source: "Our Youth and Speaking" January 22, 1997, Reuben. teaching identifier: 970122A To read the teaching in its entirety, go to http://www.twelvetribesteachings.com/o.htm |

Thanks Ully! And Susan, as far as "knowing first hand" I swear on my own eyes that we did wash guests plates separately in bleach water and were to try and keep it discreet...! So WheresyourTuTu needs to curb their "foolishness"! |
