Wow i know you guys are going to injoy this one!!! Hi Bob how are you, am going back to the philippines on wensday june 13th thanks for your prayers, May God bless you and yours!!! Do we not serve the God the of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob Just something to truly think about!!! I am not a supporter of Polygamy, but I have been wondering about this for years!!! How about you ? We find Hannah being severely provoked by her ‘rival,’ her husband’s second wife (1 Sam 1:6-7), we find bitterness between Sarah and Hagar, and between Jacob’s wives and concubines. Is Polygamy forbidden in the NT? All I can find on this subject in the NT is the specific qualifications of Church leaders listed below and nothing else whatsoever forbidding or condemning having more than one wife {Polygamy ] in NT scripture, And we all know the New Testament’s instructions to leaders, be they overseers, deacons or elders: 1 Timothy 3:2 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach 1 Timothy 3:12 A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well. Titus 1:6 An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. And I believe this was due to the fact that church leaders should have a clear mind to focus on full time ministry, and not be side tracked by more than one wife.
