Has anyone seen this ridiculous TV program called WINNING IN LIFE? It's hosted by Robb Thompson, a pastor of a church in suburban Chicago called Family Harvest Church. (you'll want to check out the Family Harvest discussion also) Anyway, this show seems to be a one man parade, all about "winning principles" and how God really wants us all to be winning in this life, and making a lot of money. Robb Thompson uses this program to line his own pockets with cash, while those who watch scrape $50 or $100 together to make a donation (I'm sorry... "plant a seed") into his ministry. That was God can help THAT person to win in life also!! Meanwhile, Thompson drives his Mercedes Benzes, Porches, Corvettes, etc; wears $30,000 Rolex wathes, lives in a $1,000,000 home and wears $5000 Brioni suits. Typical Word Faith operation. Give me a break!! Sounds like a lot of New Age mumbo jumbo to me. I know some people entrenched in that church due to the cult-like tactics they use to bring people in... and once you enter... you can never leave. BAD NEWS |

I THINK THEY CAN LEAVE IF THEY WANT TO, THEY CHOOSE NOT TO. THAT IS WHERE THIER HEART MUST BE, DOENT YOU THINK? NO ONE IS MAKING THEM STAY. ARE THEY FOLLOWING MAN OR CHRIST? YOU SIMPLY GET UP AND LEAVE. THEY MUST DESIRE WHAT THEY ARE BEING TAUGHT. |

Absolutely 2345. You are right on. In addition to having itching ears that want self-serving false doctrines, many at FHC are business owners and professionals that see FHC as an opportunity to network, to do business and make money. Many do truly want to be there. This church attracts and caters to this crowd. |

Yeah, I went there for 5 years. The church will get involved in helping a member who is having a bad time financially, provided everything else lines up OK. Like, are they in regular attendance (Sunday AM & PM, as well as Wednesday nite) are they faithfully tithing... are they being submissive...or are they in rebellion, are they involved in the home group system, etc. I've heard the church throw out teaching from the pulpit that based on the teaching of "God's Word" if you are listening and applying the teaching to your life (primarily tithing) that you really can't be having a bad time financially because God promises a 10, 30 and 60 fold return... "If there ARE financial problems in your life, you no doubt brought them on yourself... you are simply reaping what you have previously sown... and the Word says that the poor you will have with you always..." "So there is really no amount of help we could give you, that would get you out of your situation... God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows he also will reap". We can't override the sowing & reaping process... so you'll need to white-knuckle it and bite the bullet so-to-speak... it'll all be over soon, and everything will probably be OK.... Meanwhile, people at FHC have lost their homes because of their "tithing" beliefs. The pastor Robb Thompson was also a loudmouth about Y2K. He said that God told him to prepare. Robb will deny that he was a "Y2K Gloom & Doom" advocate, however, he "preached" on it for more than a year! (this would make him a false prophet as well) They sold gold coins in the church lobby along with wood stoves, freeze dried foods, water filters and other "survival" products. When Y2K turned out to be a non-event, they DID give some of the stuff they had and the canned goods they collected went to the needy. Meanwhile Robb Thompson is lining his pockets with money and selling his "WINNING IN LIFE" motivational heresy all over the world. |

Anon 68.72.168.61 How right you are! You certainly were there. What really makes me sick is Robby now denies that he said Y2K was going to happen. The man is a total fraud. I sat there and listened to this crap for well over a year, I saw the depression era movie several times, I also heard Robby tell everyone how we would kiss him when this happened because we would be prepared. I am gratefull for the fact that I never bought anything that he was selling. When nothing happened he later said that he was right but it was not computers it was terrorists. If you are still at FHC get out! It will be the best thing that you can do. Hundreds if not thousands have left. We are not offended at the word of God, like Dougy will tell you. That is just another lie that they spread to justify their poor stewardship. Read the word everyday and you will see the truth. |

I agree 100% 69.208. I also heard that Robb now denies being a doomsayer about Y2K. WHAT A JOKE! Sunday after Sunday... for a year or more he was all tied up on the Y2K crap. Yeah, I'm embarassesd to say that I bought into it on a partial basis. We just recently gave our $4000 Freeze Dried Food package away to a place that serves the homeless, and I still have a generator! Of course when Robb is ever wrong, he simply twists it around to make it look like he was right on the money. This man is a JOKE, a SCAM, a LIAR, and all around BAD NEWS. BEEN THERE DONE THAT FOR 5 YEARS. GRATEFUL TO GOD FOR OPENING MY EYES AND THE EYES OF MY ENTIRE FAMILY... GONE NOW 4 YEARS. |

Anon 68.72 I am glad that you got out too. The generator can still come in handy when there is a power outage. As for the $4000.00 food package I'm sorry you got taken with that. I know people that bought those wood burning stoves and put them in their homes. They are really useless and I feel sorry for them. What Robby did he will pay for when he comes before God. If you get a chance don't forget to call Pam Zekman at channel 2 News. I believe that she is going to expose what a con man and a fraud Thompson and Boettcher are. |

I saw the Winning In Life TV show a couple times, so I checked out the "church" Robb Thompson is affiliated with, Family Harvest Church, in Tinley Park Illinois What a Joke! It is amazing to me that people call this place a church and that those who seek the Lord could actually attend there more than once or twice. It just shows how deceptive Satan can be and how even the elect will be deceived as Satan portrays himself as "light" Thompson "teaches" the flock his "biblical principles" on giving and tithing and how God wants us all blessed and rolling in dough. If we're poor, or sick, or hungry -- it indicates a lack of faith. Meanwhile, Thompson has a couple thousand people all scraping their dollars together in order to tithe, and Robb Thomnpson is up on stage sporting a $25,000 Rolex watch and a $5000 Brioni suit. I hear he has a bunch of luxury cars and lives in a $1,000,000 home also paid for by the faithful church members! The Word says that God will not be mocked. Robb Thompson will reap what he has sown here. He will pay for the "ripping off" he has done and for the squandering of God's provision. He is the textbook example of those who chase after riches. Stewardship is taking what God has givin us and using it properly to spread the gospel message of Jesus Christ; not to line our own pockets and fill our garages with Benzes and BMW's. He will pay for the lives and the families he has destroyed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CHURCH AND THIS TV SHOW. IT IS POISON TO THE BODY OF CHRIST!! |

Amen 432. People ARE reading, and seeds are being planted that the Holy Spirit will use to get to those who need to get out of that place. Make all the excuses you like; Why do you think Family Harvest has a revolving door in the back of the church? As fast as Robb lures unsuspecting souls in the front door with a promise of love, joy, happiness, and prosperity, just as many are being prompted by the Holy Spirit to get out of that place! Meanwhile, the real churches in the immedaite area are busting at the seams with new members desiring to serve GOD... not man. This gotta irk the crap out of Robb Thompson and his cronies. |

Robb Thompson has been irked about this problem for years. He once sent another pastor to the Christian Life Center with the message send all those that came to your church from FHC back. The pastor at CLC said no and got up and walked out of the meeting. |

111232, The story is true. It was a few years ago. When the pastor who was sent by Robb Thompson on the mission to Christian Life Center made the demand to send back the people to FHC who had left. Jerry Mcquay, the Pastor at CLC said no he would not do it. He then walked out of the meeting. That is about all there is to the story. The only thing that I can add is it is just another example of Thompsons arrogance. |

I've spent some time at Robb Thompson's church as well. Too way out for me. All the guy talks about is money, while he blows his own horn. Constantly building himself up, and the authority that God has given him. Makes me wanna puke. The turnover is incredible. As fast as 100 leave the church, 100 new, unsuspecting newbies show up. It's an ongoing thing. The church is still about the same size as when I went there 5 or 6 years ago. Several years ago, EVERY pastor on the FHC staff left Robb Thompson's church in search of a legitimate, church where Jesus Chrust is the focus instead of Robb Thompson. Every one of his second level pastors left!! One pastor, Mike Fehlauer, even wrote a book on Spiritual Abuse. If you were to read his book... and you spent any time at Robb Thompson's church, its clear that a lot of the stories he tells are about Robb Thompson and Family Harvest Church. Don't send this guy any of your money!!! |

Thompson always made a point of mentioning it was HIS name (Thompson's) on the sign. I don't think the other pastors taking a stand would have mattered. Thompson owns the church - it's all in his name. |

I was there. I do know for a fact that several of the pastors tried to talk to RObb Thompson, but to no avail. There was also a "Director of Ministry" that they hired from outside the area. This guy was there about 30 days, and witnesses widespread financial and spiritual abuse. He confronted Robb Thompson, and was sent packin' Their current Director of Ministry, Doug Boettcher, was hand-picked by Robb Thompson, and is as crooked as the day is long. |

All of you are correct in one way or another. There are definite issues going on with FHC. You can also place posts about thhis topic craigslist.org and click on the Chicago area link which will be in the list of cities in the right half of your screen, then go to rants and raves, and post away !! The board is a free service like this one, and gets ALOT of exposure to Chicago area, and others if you choose. Craigslist has become more and more popular, and alot of people read it. There is alot of trash in there, but only click oh the topic headers you creat and read them. You can also reply anonomosly.(sp?) |

Who does J.J. think he is? He is the ' Youth Pastor", but is allowed to determine who dates who and sticks his nose where it does not belong. This individual acts as though he is God. He even recently went to a woman who was dating someone and said I am the one for her, not you. He also went to that womans parents and other church staff and they listened to him. SOOOOOOOOOO the girl leaves the one guy and goes to J.J. because he said he has waited years for her etc. then ignores her and moves onto another girl, and now his secretary. How can this be called "Godly courtship"?? I am amazed at this. The hurt that was caused amongst many people should have not ever happened. J.J. is allowed to do as he pleases it seems, and noby stops him. I know there are others out there who know who I speak of, and am very familiar with these types of situations with him, and more. I guess it must just be the status thing, if you are in the " in crowd" you can do as you please, and get what you want, reguardless of how you act and what you do. BUT for others (members) we are held accountable for our actions, but a person or persons in "authority" at the church can do as they please. I still stand here amazed. |

Seek first His Kingdom and His Righteousness.....forget about the do nothing youth pastor. Let him put on his shows and call them outreaches.....WHO CARES?? If you're in right standing w/ God then perceived status at a little church in Tinley Park is MEANINGLESS! Serve God with your whole life and don't waste your time there. |

Anon 68.90 Great post! Good advice. Getting weighed down with all this foolishness is how the devil gets us off track. Matthew 15 12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, "Do you realize you offended the Pharisees by what you just said?" 13 Jesus replied, "Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be rooted up, 14 so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch." |

It does not send a good message to the teens, and hurts the women and families involved along the way. Have a Blessed Godly Memorable day! |

"If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, {4} he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions {5} and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. {6} But godliness with contentment is great gain. {7} For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. {8} But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. {9} People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. {10} For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." - The Bible, New International Version, 1 Timothy 6:3-10 |

This is how they are decieved, they listen from the pulpit instead of searching the scriptures and STUDYING, defining the word, applying the word to the context, and believing the doctrine of man and what is attractive to their flesh then seeking those things which are spiritual and of God. |

You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. 11 What I meant was that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a Christian yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Don't even eat with such people. 12 It isn't my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your job to judge those inside the church who are sinning in these ways. 13 God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, "You must remove the evil person from among you." |

Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, rebuke and expose them. 2 Corinthians 5:10-11 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in our bodies. It is because we know this solemn fear of the Lord that we work so hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too. Romans 13:14 But let the Lord Jesus Christ take control of you, and don't think of ways to indulge your evil desires. |

1 John 3 4 Those who sin are opposed to the law of God, for all sin opposes the law of God. 5 And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, for there is no sin in him. 6 So if we continue to live in him, we won't sin either. But those who keep on sinning have never known him or understood who he is. 7 Dear children, don't let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it is because they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows they belong to the Devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the Devil. 9 Those who have been born into God's family do not sin, because God's life is in them. So they can't keep on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the Devil. Anyone who does not obey God's commands and does not love other Christians does not belong to God. |

Christina, I'm not getting into this foolish discusion with you. It's a waste of time. I encourage you to test the things you believe with what is written in the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit for understanding. Do you understand why we expose evil that is being done by those who call themselves Christians? It's so that they can repent from their sins before it's too late. It's love, not hate. I pray for all those who are deceived. I pray that their eyes are opened to the truth before it's too late. But I know God is faithful. And I believe that He does place in His children a hunger for truth. So, perhaps the best any of us can do is to speak the truth in love. Am I perfect? I would never claim to be so. But I strive to live a life which is pleasing to God. Don't be deceived...those who are truly born-again strive to live righteously. They strive to do the things that are pleasing to God. No one can be led by the Holy Spirit and continually do what is evil. Peace. |

i was only reading some of this stuff. only realy the top stuff and i'm very scared. i'm 17 and i went to that church for 7 years when i was little that was 10 years ago. i had 2 best friends there when i went and they are today still my best friends. One of my friends (whose uncle is MF and is constantly bashed at that church) left right after my parents did and now we still go to the same church. but our one friend still goes there and we've seen her change so much since she's been in the youth. she's loosing friends (not just any friends but best friends)left and right. Pretty soon i'm not gunna deal with it any longer and loose her too. i'm so scared i hate the way that church manipulates her mind. she has insulted me many times and spoken bad about my family and i just let her because i love her so much. i pray so often that she leaves that church. but i just wish that she can see what a fruad the people are there. i do so much for her and then when she can do somthing for me like attend my surprise birthday party she says that she can't because she has a "church" thing and thats just bull! my other best friend was able to convince her in to comeing because she accedentally forgot to hang up the phone and they were talking about how rude it was of her. but i can hardly stand it anymore. i love her so much and FHC is the only thing that connects it. i'm not stupid either to blame it on FHC. but i grew up in a house that can see right through it. 7 years is a long time to be going to that church and its obvious something is wrong with it. i pray that that church is exposed for what it realy is. |

Dear MAC We must have been there around the same time. I left a little over 9 years ago and had been very active in children's ministry for several years. Maybe I knew you. But there is another reason I feel I can relate to how you are feeling. When I was in high school my family belonged to a cult like group. We left when I was 16 and that began an incredibly difficult period of my life. One of the most lingering and difficult things I had to deal with had to do with people who I had considered my best friends turning on me and having nothing to do with me. Some were better than others but the ones who mattered most to me completely shunned me. After dealing with the initial shock and pain of the shunning I began to realize how deceived I had been and how deceived they still were. Keep the lines of communication open with her as much as it depends on you. There may come a point when you have to let your friend go and part ways, but you never have to give up praying for her. You're at a difficult age - I would never want to be 17 again! Let's hope that's at least part of her problem - she can out grow that! Meanwhile, keep your eyes on the Lord and stay close to Him and trust Him to keep those He has called to Himself. You sound like an awesome person! God Bless & Keep you |

Hey MAC, I know exactly what you are going through. We were at Family Harvest Church for about 7 years also. At first we though it was pretty cool. But I'll tell you now; if we could only turn back the hands of time we would have never set foot in that place. It screwed our entire family up for at least two years. Our marriage almost fell apart, our kids were in rebellion, but by the grace of God, he helped us get back on the right track, and it had nothing to do with commanding God around like an errand boy through the use of what they call "positive confession" It's a struggle MAC. But I don't really feel that there will be much success in getting your friends out of there aside from diligent prayer. Family Harvest Church is a CULT, and cults use some pretty scary techniques to get people to join, to stay, to listen to them, to not rebel, etc. God is the answer MAC. Pray daily that He will remove the scales from the eyes of your loved ones, and I believe, if they are open to hearing the truth, God will deliver them. |

Todays Winning Key: YOUR MENTOR IS THE ONE WHOSE VOICE YOU OBEY… NOT JUST LISTEN TO. Proverbs 4:1 “My children, listen to me. Listen to your father’s instruction.” (NLT) Beware of the novice spirit that eventually tries to attack each person as they grow in knowledge. The novice spirit is one who thinks they know so much that they have risen above their leader, seeing him or her as stuck in their ways; this person has now spotted learning. We must understand that everyone knows unique things that no one else knows; hence I may know a few things my authority doesn’t, but the servant is not above the master. I have seen many protégés commit financial, emotional and spiritual suicide. We must understand that we don’t learn much of what our mentor has taught us until we are made to do it ourselves; it is only then that we realize how little we knew without them. You may have knowledge but your mentor has experience. Even though a student may know a lot about their chosen field of knowledge, their mentor has a vast knowledge of types of people, pitfalls and real life situations. A mentor has priceless information and wisdom. Since history does repeat itself, we don’t have time to make the same mistakes as those above us, we must learn from them. Are you being the protégé or the mentor? You must choose your posture -- it will affect the rest of your life. Confession Ephesians 6:1; Hebrews 13:17 “I am submitted and obedient to those God has placed over me. I am teachable without strife and rebellion. I choose to listen to my Father, no longer will I do the talking but I will do the writing in Jesus’ name.” |

AMEN (68,72,104,175)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If there is anything that has been used and abused by the clergy in this country, it is the "doctrine of mindless submission" Back in the late 1970's the King's Community in South Holland, Ill. got invovled in what was known as "the Shepherding movement". I got saved in 1977, and King's Community was the first church I got involved with (actually Faith Word- Pastored by Bill Blonn which later merged with Calvary Church in South Holland Pastored by the late Ron Brown- they merged and made King's Community) Actually, Robb Thompson went there for awhile, before he was a pastor. Anyway, this church got invovled in the shepherding movement. In other words, the church was broken down into smaller cell groups, and the leader of the cell group would be your "shepherd", who in turn was under the pastors, who were under a guy named Vern Baxter, who was under another guy named Bob Mumford, and on and on up the ladder it went. Basically, you had to ask your "shepherd" if you wanted to go to the bathrooom ! Needless to say, it opened the door for the potential of alot of abuse. I left the church when they went into the movement, but heard there was alot of abuse (I mean how could there not be ?) and alot of people got burned ! WE CANNOT BLINDLY SUBMIT TO CHURCH LEADERS BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST AS CORRUPTIBLE AS POLITICIANS OR ANYONE ELSE !! |

I'd stay away from the Word Faith group if I were you (all the church's just mentioned by "Gods kids"). The best thing you can do is to pray and ask the Lord to guide you. Then check out the church's in your area. Which ever church you end up at, be careful not to allow church to replace your relationship with Christ. If you cling to the shepherd he will lead you and guide you. |

Thompsons lust, lies and videotapes causes unsaved people to miss GOD (4.142.12.230) Thursday, October 07, 2004 - 06:33 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The over the top SHAME, Lust, Pride, and insecurity of Robb Thomspson!!!!!!! Robb Thompson would rather drive his $100,000 cars, wear $30,000 watches, $6,000 Brioni suits, and live in multi-million dollar mansions, produce his million dollar NO-RESULTS TV program, and see a non Christian be turned off to God from his obsessive greed and lust, then to see the unsaved come into relationship with God. Why? Because Thompson is so addicted to things and gets his self-worth from THINGS and the praise of men and women rather then God. He is so insecure and so filled with fear and control spirits he has to control anyone he can. Thompson would rather take from people and tell them to go into debt, remortgage their house and give to him to feed his expensive lusts and greed. The unsaved are turned off BY HIS GREED, LUST, and not impressed by his terrible taste in clothes, cars, watches, houses shoes and words. THOMPSON WOULD RATHER SEE THESE PEOPLE GO TO HELL THEN GIVE UP HIS WORLDLY LUSTS. A PERSON THAT WOULD RATHER SEE OTHERS FALL AND CAN'T GIVE UP HIS GREED AND LUST IS "Addicted" TO THINGS. THOMPSON COULD NOT DRIVE A REASONABLY PRICED CAR, OR WEAR A REAONABLY PRICED WATCH, SUIT,SHOES ETC, OR LIVE IN A REASONABLY PRICED HOUSE even if it meant peoples salvation. He causes non Christians to stumble and pust his lusts in the way of Christians also. He's a laughing stock to the world and proof of what they say about TV preachers. At least Benny Hinn gets people saved and healed. Thompson instead destroys marriages, relationships, families, controllingly shepherds lives, lies about people when they have objections, or leave, plots and schemes about people that threaten him in any way. How deceitful and stupid can you get and still breathe. Thompson brought his low life taste to his con game for money and with a little confusion made a few ignorant people believe it. The bad fruit of his evil doings from marriages broken, relationships trashed, families destroyed, finances ravaged, is just some of the PROOF OF BAD RESULTS he has borne over the years in his evil wake. He is a NOVICE in a place people allow to be authority. You get what you allow. YOU CAN'T PLANT AND REAP A HARVEST FROM THIS BAD NO-RESULTS GROUND AND BEAR GOOD FRUIT. |

Sounds to me like NEW VISITOR and GODS KIDS are on some kind of mission! Just remember people, the Word Faith Movement is not included on all the "Cult Awareness" Websites because some idiot has an ax to grind or a personal vendetta. The word faith movement is on these websites because they teach outright heresy. They use techniques made popular by other cult groups to attract, suck in, manipulate, intimidate and destroy people. I agree that the services and the praise and worship can be very enjoyable. I'll also agree that there are legitimate Christians involved with these groups, and it's a sad thing. If they would simply compare what they hear from the pulpit to what God's word really says (in context) they would see clearly that the Word Faith camp twists the gospel and the scriptures to their own end and purpose. Pray that the Holy Spirit opens the eyes of those who are truly seeking God. I believe that God will deliver them from the stench and filth and heresy that is taught in these churches. |

"Gods kids" - you lie and try to intimidate people by claiming to know who they are and now (on another board) threatening with lawyers. You accuse anyone who disagrees with you of being a satanist and/or a "hater" - seems to be a popular tactic on these message boards when people are unable to give rational and/or biblical based answers. Your bullying techniques do not reflect the love of God or the meekness and humility of Christ. Now who's kids are you really? |

I have read through the majority of this thread. Honestly, I cannot believe that these are a bunch of Christians writing to other Christians. The Word says "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Where is the grace? Anyway, I don't know much (if anything) about FHC though I am Word of Faith & live in Chicago. Let me explain something that seems to be missed here. Some Word of Faith preachers/teachers are not in line with the Word, yet to disregard Word of Faith because of them is like disregarding Jesus because Christians don't act right. True Word of Faith is not a "get rich" scheme. Truthfully, the prosperity message is there but not the way it is perceived. If you look closely at scriptures you will see that the Bible says MANY MANY times in Old & New Testament that God will completely take care of His children. "I've never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging for bread." That doesn't mean that everyone will be rich - it means that God will supply all of your NEEDS and that you will have MORE THAN ENOUGH. My husband & I honor God with our finances by giving to the church & giving to widows & orphans and being a good steward, God has increased us double in our income in 5 years - yet we're still doing the same job. We didn't move from the apartment or neighborhood that God called us to - we didn't begin to spend like crazy for selfish gain, rather we asked "what do you want us to do with this increase?" and He told us. It's not for selfish gain - it is for His purpose! That is Word of Faith. Being free from sickness & disease is not for selfish gain, yet also for His purpose. These ARE taught in the Word of God! It's not manipulation or a false teaching - it is straight up the Word. Jesus didn't preach prosperity in the way your are perceiving it, but do you EVER see Him begging for bread or without more than enough?? He pulled money out of a fish's mouth and fed thousands of people from a few fish and a little bread TWICE - if that is not God's provision at work, I don't know what it is! He is such an awesome & faithful God - don't through away His promises just because some people don't use them correctly. Also, someone mentioned that we should be praying for this man. Right before I read that post, I was thinking "Wow, if these people prayed even 1/2 as much as they spend the energy talking/writing about this, God would have already taken care of it because He hears and answers His children." Father, teach us to humbly walk before You and others, like-minded or not. Convict us to pray more earnestly for Your people and for those that don’t know You. You, Lord, are the One that changes the hearts of the kings and there are many in positions of authority that are not using their positions for Your glory – convict them Lord and change their hearts. Change our hearts as well, Lord, that we would honor You in our speech and in our minds that we would not be an accuser of the brethren and that we would honor ALL others above our self, and that as Your Word teaches we would, if at all possible, within our means, live at peace with one other, yet still hold Your Word as the highest standard and obey only Your voice. Be seek to bring You glory, Lord Jesus. In Jesus Name. Amen. |

Well, I attend a Word of Faith church on the Northside that goes along the same lines that I stated in my post. I have also read many Word of Faith authors that you would be familar with that people have wrongly interpretted as a get rich scheme. I have seen many people look at it from the wrong perspective, often (not saying this is you) wanting to see that it is bad, but if you read and listen and also sense the Spirit behind it, you will see that what they are preaching/teaching is true. Now some people will get rich through this gospel, that is not wrong either - look at Solomon!! In God, it is not about rich or not rich by the world's standards - it is obeying Him. If we all lived in mansions who would minister to those in apartments & if we all lived in apartments who would minister to those in mansions? We often see those that have profitted considerably and judge them, but really God has enabled many of them to be in that position in order to further His gospel AND to further His promises to His children! Many Christians live outside their Promise Land because of unbelief. No, GO TAP DANCE ON THAT LAND! It's YOUR promise from your Father! |

YES, I UNDERSTAND THAT, BUT, WHAT DID JESUS SAY TO THE YOUNG RICH MAN, LEAVE EVERYTHING BEHIND AND FOLLOW ME. PLUS, MANY IN THAT CHURCH DIDNT WANT TO HELP THOSE THAT HAD NEED AT THE CHURCH I HAVE A VERY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH BECAUSE OF THIS I WILL NEVER, NEVER GO TO A PROSPARITY CHURCH AGAIN. SORRY BUT I AM AGAINST THEM |

ROBB THOMPSON HAS DONE NOTHING OUTSIDE OF HELPING OTHERS KNOW GOD AND BETTER THEIR LIVES.IN 14 YEARS OR SO THE WORD OF GOD TAUGHT TO ME AND MY SPOUSE HAVE BEEN KEY IN IMPROVING MY ADDITUDE AND HELPING ME DO WHAT GOD WANTS ME TO DO.ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SPOKEN AGAINST PASTOR ROBB AND FAMILY HARVEST CHURCH SHOULD LOOK AT 2KINGS CHAP. 1 AND 1ST PET. 2:10&11. ALSO LOOK AT LUKE 6:38 AND DUET. 8:18. IF YOU GIVE INTO GODS KINGDOM WITH A PURE HEART, YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE NUTS OR AN UNBELIEVER TO THINK THAT GOD WOULD NOT BLESS YOU IN THIS LIFE AND THE LIFE TO COME.BEING BLESSED IS NOT MY FOCUS BUT IS THE RETORICAL RESULT OF BEING A BLESSING. YOU KNOW IT IS FUNNY THAT WHEN WE WERE NOT SAVED WE IN THE WORLD USE TO SAY " WHAT GOES ARROUND COMES ARROUND." AT BEER PARTIES WHEN THE LOST RUN OUT OF BEER IF YOU DONT PITCH IN MONEY YOU DONT GET TO DRINK WHEN THE NEW KEG ARRIVES. BUT NOW THAT WE ARE SAVED WE THINK SOMEHOW GOD'S STANDARDS SHOULD BE LOWER? HOW DARE ANYONE DRINK FROM THE RIVER OF LIFE AND THEN AFTER HIS NEEDS ARE MET BE UNWILLING TO PITCH IN FOR THE SALVATION OF OTHERS. FAMILY HARVEST HAS NEVER ASKED US TO GIVE IN SUCH A WAY THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOR OURSELVES. NO ONE EVER MAKES US DO ANYTHING.WHEN EXODUS CHAPTER 20 TELLS US TO LOVE GOD WITH ALL OF OUR STRENGTH THE WORD STRENGTH MEANS ALL OF OUR RESOURCES INCLUDING MONEY.AS FOR LOSING FRIENDS I HAVE LOST MOST OF THEM. WHY? BECAUSE I GET EXCITED ABOUT JESUS AND I WANT TO TALK ABOUT HIM AND THOSE WHO ARE NOT SAVED YET DONT WANT TO SO THEY REJECT ME. I DONT REJECT THEM THEY REJECT ME. JESUS SAYS IF THEY REJECT ME THEY REJECT HIM. NO ONE MAKES US ATTEND A PARTICULAR AMOUT OF SERVICES BUT IT IS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND ALOT BECAUSE IT SPEEDS UP YOUR RATE OF GROWTH AND HELPS DETOUR THE ONSLAUGHT OF UNBELIEF THE WORLD THROWS AT US EVERY DAY. LETS FACE IT FOLKS. I WAS A PROFFESSIONAL SINNER FOR 25 YEARS SO IT WILL TAKE A BIT MORE THAN NODDING TO GOD ONCE A WEEK AND PICKING UP A BULITEN.I FIND IT STRANGE WHEN CRITICS ACCUSE PASTOR ROBB OF OF BEING IN IT FOR THE MONEY BUT THEY WOULDNT DARE RESEARCH AND MAGNIFY THE MONEY HE HAS GIVEN INTO THE GOSPEL. MONEY IS JUST ONE OF MANY TOOLS THAT HELPS TO FURTHER THE GOSPEL.WONERING WHO I AM? HERE IS THE KICKER.. I AM A REGULAR BELIEVER WHO CURRENTLY HOLDS NO LEADERSHIP POSITION. IT HAS BEEN MY PLEASURE TO DEFEND PASTOR ROBB AND FAMILY HARVEST CHURCH. NOW HERE IS A CLUE SO ONLY MY FRIENDS KNOW WHO I AM..."MY HANDS ARE FASTER THAN LIGHTNING, THE CHILDREN LOVE ME, AND I WALLOW IN RIVERS WHOS CURRENT IS 35MPH WITH 15 FOOT TALL CRASHING WAVES". THANK YOU FOR ENTERTAINING MY THOUGHTS . REMEMBER THAT JESUS PROVED HIS LOVE FOR US BY DYING ON THE CROSS ROM. 5:8 SO LET US PROVE OUR LOVE FOR HIM BY TAKING UP OUR CROSS AND FOLLOWING HIM....... |

Ezekiel 34 1. GOD's Message came to me: 2. "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherd-leaders of Israel. Yes, prophesy! Tell those shepherds, "GOD, the Master, says: Doom to you shepherds of Israel, feeding your own mouths! Aren't shepherds supposed to feed sheep? 3. You drink the milk, you make clothes from the wool, you roast the lambs, but you don't feed the sheep. 4. You don't build up the weak ones, don't heal the sick, don't doctor the injured, don't go after the strays, don't look for the lost. You bully and badger them. 5. And now they're scattered every which way because there was no shepherd--scattered and easy pickings for wolves and coyotes. 6. Scattered--my sheep!-exposed and vulnerable across mountains and hills. My sheep scattered all over the world, and no one out looking for them! 7. "Therefore, shepherds, listen to the Message of GOD: 8. As sure as I am the living God--Decree of GOD, the Master--because my sheep have been turned into mere prey, into easy meals for wolves because you shepherds ignored them and only fed yourselves, 9. listen to what GOD has to say: 10. "Watch out! I'm coming down on the shepherds and taking my sheep back. They're fired as shepherds of my sheep. No more shepherds who just feed themselves! I'll rescue my sheep from their greed. They're not going to feed off my sheep any longer! |

Micah 3 4.The time's coming, though, when these same leaders will cry out for help to GOD, but he won't listen. He'll turn his face the other way because of their history of evil. 5.Here is GOD's Message to the prophets, the preachers who lie to my people: "For as long as they're well paid and well fed, the prophets preach, "Isn't life wonderful! Peace to all!' But if you don't pay up and jump on their bandwagon, their "God bless you' turns into "God damn you.' 6.Therefore, you're going blind. You'll see nothing. You'll live in deep shadows and know nothing. The sun has set on the prophets. They've had their day; from now on it's night. (MSG) |

God's kids already said on another string that "they were done defending God's annointed ones". I guess that means they're gone for good. (we could only hope) I can't wait until they start posting names and addresses!!!!!! What phoneys!!! Anyway, I think a really good idea would be for all of us to simply ignore the "gods kids". They are obviously unbalanced and in great need of emotional and spiritual counseling. Why don't we all just "talk around them" like they're not even here. Ignore their posts entirely, and it will give them NO ONE TO ARGUE WITH. Plus, IT'LL DRIVE 'EM NUTS. (I mean "Nuttier") I think, just like all the "Robbites" on the other strings... they get off on arguing and calling everyone liars. LET'S JUST IGNORE THEM COMPLETELY. |

Did Thompson teach you about his relationship with the car dealers where the church pays for his $100,000.00 cars? How about his relationship with the shoe salesman that sells him $500.00 to $1,000.00 for a pair shoes that the people at FHC pay for? Maybe he taught you about his relationship with the man who sells him his $6,000.00 suits that the fleeced flock pays for. If you got a real good teaching on relationship maybe he mentioned the real estate agent that sold him the $1,000,000,000.00 house and we all know that the church pays the mortgage. Yeah, he has done a great job alright fleeceing the flock at FHC. I am sure that you received a great teaching. Did he also give you a great fleeceing like he does at his church in Tinley Park Il. every week? |

201.132 this info you have is wrong, when is the last time you actually looked in his garage. you need to get your stats in order. the house, no mortgage the cars, since you dont come to church i guess you dont know about the ren-tech sl6 (check the sticker price on that) but once you lie you just get confused so i understand. there is only one way to get offended about something like that. its simply the fact that you dont understand the process of sowing and reaping. God also tells us that you cant touch his anointed. anon 112.3.38 the men and women on this forum have all left the chuch 5-10 years ago and are offended at paster robb. if your know anything about the bible it tells not to hold an offense. im glad you enjoyed PRT as much as we do. i traveled to the church in florida and PRT taught the word of GOd to others....and didnt recieve 1 offering 160.55 |

You need to get your facts straight. Thompson has ripped the people off for years. The church has paid over and over again for leases that he broke on cars and incured hugh penalties. Bad stewardship. Thompson is NOT Gods anoited. You need to get that through your head. I did not leave FHC 5 or 10 years ago. Once again you do not know what you are talking about. You also don't know where I go to Church. Before you lie get your facts straight. |

THOMPSON THE REASON WHY PEOPLE DONT KNOW GOD IN TINLEY AND ORLAND (4.142.93.202)
| | Posted on Friday, October 22, 2004 - 3:16 pm: |
|
Who and what you support you are reponsible to God for. Even as much as the person you support is responsible to God. If you support someone and enable them to do evil and continue to cause evil YOU REAP that same evil back to yourself multiplied many times over. That is called " REAPING what YOU SOW" It's an eternal law that never stops. When you support anyone who causes so much harm you are an ENABLER, co-conspiriator, co-dependent, and co-defendant. You are just as bad as Thompson is who cons people out of their money with wrong LUST and fear motivated tactics. Thompson doesn't spend even 2 percent of HIS OWN money on evangelism (GODS number one calling) to reach lost souls in Tinley Park. He doesn't even spend 2% of the money he spends on his over expensive STATUS SYMBOL cars, $30,000 rolex watches, $5,000 suits and so on for any of good things God has called us to. God works on percentages not AMOUNTS. If you unnecessarily spend a million dollars on cars, watches, clothes, trips, etc. and and not even $10,000(only 1%-10% would equal $100,000) directly to see individuls hear the good news in Tinley Park you are not "FAITHFUL in MUCH" We are not only talking about his bad stewarship of the churches money here(thats another subject worth talking about entirely) We are talking about What he spends of his own personal income to GOD. What percentage does he spend there. HOW MUCH MORE COULD HE SPEND IF HE GOT RID OF ALL THE UNECESSARY EXTRAVAGANCE AND EXPENSIVE TOYS AND USED THAT MONEY TO REACH ALL THE KIDS IN TINLEY PARK AND ORLAND HIGH SCHOOLS, OR ALL THE ADULTS THAT LIVE IN TINLEY PARK THAT NEED JESUS???? YES THERE IS A LACK OF MONEY TO REACH THE PEOPLE IN TINLEY AND ORLAND.....AND THOMPSON AND HIS LUSTFILLED GREED AND SPENDING IS THE MAIN REASON FOR THAT LACK OF MONEY. BUT THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT HIS HABIT ARE JUST AS WRONG AND SOME WOULD SAY EVIL NEGLECTING THE SOULS NEEDING TO KNOW GOD! |

"...you can go get in your 90' sable...drive to church...in your wall mart suit...." *Quoting lil g.* This is so sad that this is still the mentality of those at fhc. God sees "the heart" of the matter...not the outside all pretty and fake! I can't believe you people still don't get it. Whitewashed tombs ring a bell? Looking down on someone as less spiritual or something based upon what they wear or drive is just absurd. So far from the heart of God that it's not even funny. Ask yourself if you really KNOW HIM. If settling for mediocrity means getting away from sick thinking people like this so we can have a REAL relationship w/ God......getting to know Him and walking out His purpose for our lives instead of just being a part of a man's agenda...and helping others to do the same......than SO BE IT. And Kooks much like lil g can call you a quitter or a coward or tell you that you don't understand submission......None of that matters...just walk away unoffended.....water of a duck's back dude....God's opinion is what really matters. Anon 68.90.67.245, Well said! The pathetic and deluded statements made by lil g and eec73 just go to show the thinking and doctrine that is taught at FHC. The focus of FHC as proven by the posts are focused on one thing and one thing only, MONEY! This is the heresey that is taught by Thompson and his cronies. The lavish lifestyle with no accountability of Thompson proves the point. Notice in their posts we rarely if ever hear about God. We do however hear about money in every single one of their posts. What you have posted above is the truth. "God's opinion is what really matters". In the end it is ALL that matters. |

LOL, The only reason that money is even an issue here is that it is YOUR major gripe. "We do however hear about money in every single one of their posts." Statements like that show how ignorant and narrow-minded you are. You throw out statements using absolutes to try and strengthen your arguements even when those statements are lies. You don't have a strong point to stand on so you have to make things up. Your posts are pathetic. |

Thanks guys, Although, to be honest, I don't have a problem with wealth or success AT ALL. Money is not a swear word in my book. If a person completely submitted to God it's a non-issue. And I'm not here to call anyone a heretic, btw. The issue is are we Man-Centered or are we God-Centered?!? That's what separates the healthy believers from the unhealthy ones. And the same for churches. What a person has, wears, drives, lives in or whatever doesn't matter AT ALL to me or to God for that matter. It works both ways. There's two sides to every coin....right? Are we God-Centered or not?? That's the Question. Our heart is what God is concerned about.....Does He have our whole heart or just a pertcentage of it? Are we sold out and about His business or just out for our own agenda? The rich young ruler failed because his heart was still centered on earthly things. He was unwilling to let go and wholeheartedly focus on Jesus. Again, a heart issue. Mark 12:30 'You must love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.' |

lil g's post demonstrates the contempt many of these people have for the poor. We had this discussion on another thread - they don't even realize they are being contemptuous. |

Sue, I can't speak for lil g, but I have no contempt for the poor. I have contempt for poverty and those who wear it like a badge of honor. |

68.90.67.245, Believe it or not, I don't consider anyone here my enemy. I don't think that leaving FHC makes anyone a bad person. I don't think FHC is the right church for everyone. Even PRT will tell you that. My only beef here is with the things people say so if you say something reasonable then I can't make fun of it and if I agree with what you say then I don't have a problem letting you know, no matter who you are. And lil g is a friend of mine, so I talk to him face to face when I don't agree with him. |

It is is a problem though when it is often wrongly assumed that a person is wearing their poverty as a "badge of honor". Heard that term before. And they're labeled "A Taker" at church. All of a sudden it's ok for everyone to ignore them and not show any Love towards them in that situation. Assumption = Lowest form of knowledge. If it's true they need help on how to think differently. Not have a victim mentality. |

QWERTY It means that sometimes people use their hardships to get attention and aren't really interested in real change. Or that's my take anyway. |

I've seen it a lot. People see other people who have more money and in order to make themselves feel better they make statements like "All that person cares about is money" or "They must be doing something illegal". Then they fall into the train of thought "less money=more Godly" and start wearing their poverty like a badge. It becomes an excuse for no personal growth and a victim mentality. |

"I've seen it a lot." How is it that someone earns that label with you? Just curious. If someone is on welfare or in sec. 8 housing is it an automatic? |

There are no "automatics". The fact is that poverty hurts people. Giving to the poor eases that pain, but it won't heal them. Pain-killers don't heal people. And just like pain-killers you can get addicted to welfare and other people paying your bills. You can become comfortable in your poverty, but that doesn't make it right. I think that we need to ease people's pain, bu |
