I have some wery serious doubt that a pentecostal can keep up with more than one train of thought. But I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Let us start from scratch. Please provide me an example of(from God's (w)Holy Inspired Inerrant Word for the Ages): One single soul who quote, unquote "asked for" or quote, unquote "sought after" quote, unquote "Baptism in the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues." Someone has already made the point that the Bible is in plain English, so book chapter and verse please. For those who may not know, this is a carnal doctrine of the Assembly of God. One of four, I should add. |

I know exactly your train of thought for your not the first unbeliever I chated with. Acts 10:44-48 The Gentiles Receive the Holy Ghost 44 Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. 45 The Jewish believers[a] who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter asked, 47 “Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?” 48 So he gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterward Cornelius asked him to stay with them for several days. Acts 11:15-18 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Acts 1:7,8 16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said, `John indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.' 17 If therefore God gave them the same gift as He did unto us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?" 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, "Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." If your a believer why are you not glorifying God for the Baptism in the HolyGhost and for speaking in tongues and Prophesying by the gift given to the Gentiles that were granted repentance unto life." I hope that you understand that the tongues spoken were gentile languages, and not gibberish...hallashaboookannna It was for the reason of spreading the Gospel to the nations (gentiles),with perfect understanding and no confusion. ALL understood. No interpretor needed. No babyl tongue needed. in His service c |

Yes I heard babbling in my time, which is why many are afraid of the beautiful gift the Father has for us. I also seen people bring forth a tongue at a time that was not the right timing. So does that mean that we throw out the Gift of God? First there is to be order when bringing forth tongues which is 3 at the most and there must be an interpreter present or we are to pray for interpretation or SHUT UP! Tongues is equal to prophesy when interpreted. 1Corithians 14:26-40 is the order of the service and a Church/Body that is led by the HolyGhost not the flesh. Satan can imitate things also, he said I will be like the most high God, he is a copy cat. That is where the gift of dissernment can tell whether its of God or the devil. There is to be a time in the service/fellowship that is given to the HolyGhost to do as He pleases. Which even HolyGhost baptized Churches hardly even operate in the gifts on a regular basis or even at all. I am sure God has something to say each week. It is not to be forced either of which I seen that also. If a HolyGhost Baptized believer prepares themself to be used of God I am sure He will use them, but when we are running late or whatever, we rush in to the fellowship our mind is racing were all worked up, how will God be able to use us if we are not listening to His still voice? I think it even more worse when someone steps out in faith and even the Pastor cant interpret the tongue. Many Pastors are babes themselves so how can they teach the people what they do not even practice? or know about? What about the rest of the gifts? I never seen so little casting out of devils, and laying on hands and anointing with oil as in james 5:14, as todays modern Church. Christians dont even know there authority in Jesus its sad. Rejecting what Jesus died to give them. Hurts my heart, I only can imagine what God feels like? |

I think that the original question was to use a scripture where some one asked for or sought after. In all fairness, the scriptures that you gave do not answer the question, Also, for years I was taught that an interpretation in tongues was equal to prophecy. Are you aware that there is not one scripture to support this theory? |

I still get the feeling that you think that 'gibberish', is from God. It is not. glossa....where we get glossary from, means LANGUAGE. It seems that some here actually believe that a UNKNOWN babbyl language, could be a message from God, or prayers to God. Neither could be further from the truth. When God gives the gift of HIS CLOVEN tongue (ACTS), ALL the people regardless of what language they themselves understand, heard the MESSAGE from GOD and understood completely ... in their own language. 100 different speaking people would each hear the MESSAGE from GOD in their own language and comprehend it. NO INTERPRETATION NEEDED. God does give gifts, which are in operation today, although not what you see most of the time on TV. The gift of TONGUES (1Cor12-14) is not the same thing at all. The chapter 14 is an instruction manual on how to preach the gospel in the different gentile languages, in a stadium filled with people from all over the region, speaking many different languages. The teaching is about order and NOT CAUSING CONFUSION. It is instruction on how preachers and interpreters are to spread the message. Like an English speaking pastor (gifted in the ability to teach God's Word) going to China to spread the Gospel. He doesn't speak Chinese, so he brings with him someone who speaks both English and Chinese (gifted by God to do so). At Corinth, there was a melting pot of culture and languages. Many different speaking people gathered there at the same time. If there were no rules, dis order is the result...hence Chapter 14. Just remember TONGUES=LANGUAGES, nothing more. the word "unknown" has been added by the translators, in an attempt to convey that the language spoken is not native to the listeners. That is the whole point. The Great Commission. God doesn't need to disguise a message in an unknown tongue. If He has something to say, HE SAYS IT CLEARLY. There is no Old Testament example, there is no New Testament example, and the whole chapter that people use to prove this false gift of babyl tongues, is expressly written to prove the opposite. Order and understanding, not confusion and garbled messages. If it is babyl, it is not from God, and if you babyl prayer, I feel sorry for those that do this. If you have a different understanding, could you give me an example of "tongues" so I can see where you are coming from? I truly say this out of Christian Brotherhood love, in His service c

Come, Mr. Purification, you quoted some excellent scripture. Unfortunately, none of it applies to my question. Can you try really hard to answer my simple question, please. |
