Mat 5:1 When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.

Mat 5:2 He opened His mouth and {began} to teach them, saying,

Mat 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Mat 5:5 "Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.

Mat 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Mat 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Mat 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Mat 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Mat 5:10 "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:11 "Blessed are you when {people} insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

The above were on my heart for the last few days. Originally I was going to make a sarcastic entry regarding them and what the equivalent would be from EN point of view but they are too beautiful for an immature entry like that.

But as I seriously considered them prior to putting this post up, I was deeply touched by their content. Fully, the character and person of God in all His abundance becomes so clear and I am driven to my knees in adoration of a good, honourable, and might king. Our King whom has selected us to become a part of His family!

It upsets me when I realise I am so touched because it was so absent during my time in EN. When were we taught it is wonderful to merciful and gentle - that God desires and applauds these behaviours within us? I personally felt compelled to overcome not only obstacles and sin in my heart but also to claim victory over people and unbelievers - too take dominion over all that I cam in contact with - work, sport, social etc.

The most amazing bit here is in 5:2 - "He opened His mouth". God specifically turned and deliberately spoke these words to the people gathered and to us now. These words come from the mouth of God and not EN leaders and pastors who preach only parts of this list.

This list is a list of attributes that God finds immensely desirable. I need to go away and meditate more on these in order that I become more who He wants me to be and to rejoice in the "weaker" and not as noticeable attitudes and aatributes.

God Bless all!!

TIKIE: WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?:

Matthew 25 (the true Gospel and how to tell if you are saved- a goat or a sheep):

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. "

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,

I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,

I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me,

I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,

I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

"He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
