Hey Everyone, The Homestead Heritage discussion started sometime around April 2005. Not long afterwards I started posting as Under Grace that was almost four-hundred posts ago. I think I have said about all I can say, it seems like much of what is being written now has been stated on other threads. I was having breakfast with someone I consider to be man of God who has relations in HH and he simply said it is time to move on and I agree. I wanted to leave you some final thoughts. Many of us have written that we did learn some good things in HH although we disagree with their doctrine. I would like to pass a few of the good things I learned in Emmaus Fellowship (HH). Today in the paper was an incredible announcement from the governor of Texas Rick Perry. He has bypassed the state legislature and made into law that six-grade girls in public schools will have to be vaccinated against some forms of STD’s that can cause cancer. I am outraged by that and I would most likely not have been had I not learned from HW, JS, BA regarding immunizations. I am sure that my wife and I would not have the convictions we do about home birth and home school if we had not become a part of HH. I am sure that we would not have stayed away from the general media (TV etc) the way we have if we had not joined HH. Thanks DB for some help there. Though it was for a short time there were many wonderful people that we met in Emmaus that we would have never known if we had not joined. I mean remarkable people with some incredible testimonies. Ironically, I may not have come to deal with my character flaws as I am today if so many had not written so much about what I need to work on. I am grateful for all of these things. I have been praying about writing this last post for several days. In my last post under “Are they keeping files on you” I wrote...... [“My prayer is that maybe some of these things written here will go past the first line of defense and hit the mark. No group is perfect. Isn’t it a possibility that there are some doctrines that need to be examined and re-visited? I am not talking about dress or diet. I am talking about the fact that this can not be the only group on the face of the planet that has covenant church right. I will say it again to my knowledge not one thing I challenged or came against was accepted as the truth, though almost everything I challenged has been brought up on this discussion board.”] continued next post |

Under Grace last post concluded… What is wrong with this picture? There have been hundreds of families that have left HH or ask by HH to leave. With few exceptions these families have left hurt, bitter and completely disillusioned. Many leaving the Christian faith altogether. Doesn’t it make sense that the members and leadership in HH should take a long hard look at the possibility they must bear some of the responsibility for these people leaving that they loved, worked side by side, shared meals with, cried and laughed together. Don’t you wonder what happened to them or how they are doing? Isn’t there just a slight possibility that HH should reexamine their doctrines and patterns to see if the doctrines and patterns themselves need changing? The above statement is my last. I will not write on this board again. FH, I appreciate your willingness to share from your heart and I am so glad you have found a renewed relationship with the Lord. ML, I have said it before and I will say it again if the Lord tarries I want to come for a visit in Brazil to see with my one good eye what God is doing there. TH, I appreciate that many of the things that you have shared are painful as well as difficult to push through. Our prayers are with you and your family. Because of what you have shared people will have to consider the other side of the coin regarding HH. I have the utmost respect for your mom and dad. Thanks for your perseverance. Prax, I will accept what you said about deception. I never ceased to be amazed at your vocab and the simple observation of how fast you can write a coherent post. I do disagree with you about HH in observations and conclusions however, I am convinced of your sincerity. May God Bless you and if I ever get to NY area I would like to meet you. Dowen, the greatest regret I have is losing the relationship with your mom and dad and your aunt and uncle. What makes it much worse is not getting to see you Daniel your brothers and sisters and cousins grow up. Though I have disagreed with you, I see a quality young man that is a reflection of your parents. You may know that my oldest boys looked up your dad and your uncle at the last fair. They told me about it after the fact. They wanted to meet the men that they had heard so much about in a good way. May God Bless you in all that you do. I am willing to leave everyone in God’s hands including and especially myself. These last few days I have become convinced that the only way anyone is going to come out of HH is by a super natural revelation of truth. However, I am equally convinced it will not come from me writing on this discussion board. “If God be for us who can be against us?” Regarding this article that is supposed to come out. Nothing is to big for God. If HH is being persecuted for rightousness sake the greater the reward in Heaven and in the end it is the posters on this board that should be fearful. If HH is indeed fighting God as I think they are this article is the least of their worries. Either way I bid everyone a final farewell and will continue to abide……….. Hi Under_grace, Thanks for your contributions here. You offered many good doctrinal discussions, including when the fellow dropped in from an unusual community. I felt every discussion was done with heart and earnestness, agree or disagree or mixed. And I especially was impressed and appreciative with your quickness and humility to make a couple of minor corrections and apologies when appropriate. Very fine. Also to speak up on integrity issues. You clearly did not like tuff and harsh words from any side that did not really have sense and balance and respect. And you would speak on such issues in a measured fashion. By the grace of God we can meet in New York or another land. Keep me on your email rolodex :-) Possibly voice chat. Oh, I hope I shared with you a bit more than just good vocabulary and quick response. That some spiritul/doctrinal/exegesis substance was there as well. And I realize that your background with HH has had a smidgen of discordance. May the Lord Jesus smooth over and cover and bring forth a new day in that regard as well. In Jesus name, Praxaluh |
