KEN & GLORIA are false teachers. They have the calling. But, they are abusing their power, money and position in perverting the Gospel. Apostle Paul gives warning to Timothy to be aware of false teachers. Whatever was true in the 1st century is true now also. Only diffeerence is they never had TV's But we have them now. Most of the false teachers are only on the Satelite and cable TV. They should quit preaching and go to Hollywood.It will save the Church. | ||

Bible verses are not necessary to prove that the Copelands are false teachers of a false gospel. Their own words and teachings are proof enough. Their "message" is opposite of the gospel of Jesus Christ. None of what they say is backed up scripturally. Anyone with the Holy Spirit within can see that. | ||

Franklin, As I and others have asserted in other threads, we'd all like to see some context for your quotes. I'd also like to see a valid argument from the Scriptures. You say this is not necessary. Franklin, please tell me why you find it not necessary to use the Bible to explain why you are right. If you are so confident in your position, then wouldn't the Bible support your view? Please humble yourself and show us where in the Scriptures you are right. And, I have the Holy Spirit, and I think the Copelands are good Bible teachers. They've made some foibles in the past, but what they do now is right. Please show me in the Bible why I am wrong, and you are right. | ||

Do you see that the Bible states we are stewards of everything we have and NOT OWNERS? How do you become a steward the Lord trusts if you seek things instead of God. God put people first and relationship with Him and His children first. (Mt6:33/Luke16) He prioritized our relationship with him first, and gave us all the ministry of reconciliation -The Great Commission to reach people for relationship with Him. Copeland spends offering money on himself like water with poor management, and talks about money and authority most of the time. That is what is in his heart. The church was pretty good, about 50 people most weeks (which was good for a start-up NYC congregation) and then the Whaley's showed up. They preached most/all Christians had demons and lust, selfishness, the inability to concentrate or not pay your bills were ALL demon-inspiried. So most/all Christians needed deliverance. They would lay hands on you and SCREAM and SHOUT IN TONGUES AND ENGLISH at you. Most of the time, you were supposed to vomit or dry heave as evidence that the demons were leaving. Well, I've been a Christian since 1974 and KNEW this was all nonsense and after the first meeting -- I had never heard of Sam or Jane -- I told Bobby and Leigh that this was WRONG, it was not scriptural and it was taking our eyes off Jesus. But they thought it was "exciting" and invited the Whaley's back. They returned, we rented a big hotel for the crowds (who came!) for the "show" and they went about their business and the gawdawful SCREAMING and SHOUTING IN TONGUES began. It went on for hours. I was sort of a leader/elder in the church and the next day I told Bobby and Leigh (again) that this was wrong and I would not attend a service where the Whaley's were because it would seem I endorsed them. Bobby and Leigh understood but disagreeded. The Whaley's came back several more times...I had no choice but to leave the congregation because now Bobby and Leigh believed the Whaley's teaching so even when the Whaley's weren't there, the SCREAMING AND SHOUTING IN TONGUES would occur -- such a horrible sound. Years later on some TV show -- INSIDE EDITION or A CURRENT AFFAIR -- I saw a special on the Whaley's with the child abuse (?) story along with video that was just like what I had witnessed first hand. What I learned from that -- and continue to learn and grow in -- is to always follow the PEACE of the Holy Spirit. If we're not sure if what we're involved in is right or not, spend time in prayer and then FOLLOW PEACE -- if we're NOT at peace, something is WRONG. Peace to all of you! But you might want to consider that it's possible your actions on this forum may have also contributed to this person calling you. Just a thought. And I think that I apologized for being a bully to you specifically, but I am way too lazy to go back and check to make sure .. However, if I didn't then, I am sorry now for being a bully, there's no excuse for being rude and mean, I think discovering Factnet and what was being said about RT was a bit of a shock in the beginning. And of course, my sense of humor is not exactly your cup of tea so what I or others view as humor, you typically view as rude. And I know that, and honestly try to stay away from you so as not to offend. However, thank you again for your apology, that's very nice of you. Honestly, other than the one phone call and Franklin's recent physical threats (who lives near me, I simply forward them to a friend of mine who is a lawyer) - it's never really bothered me that much, I try to say nothing that I wouldn't say if someone knew who I was. I am back from Vegas J, the "gay bodybuilder" is one of the biggest attractions in Vegas, a former professional baseball player in the White Sox organization and in the midst of Sin City, he has had tremendous secular success AND gives an altar call at the end of EVERY show... and you are calling him a gay bodybuilder? Are you born again Jimmietoe? He sells his CD"s for five bucks to be a blessing to people and so that they will buy them and hear the salvation message at the end and you make fun of him for this? Bach, CM, TRS, others, etc. have you heard of Ray Comfort/Way of the Master? Was in Vegas preaching at a post AVN meeting for porn industry types who have come out of the business and go to Vegas to picket the AVN awards... Anyways,these Ray Comfort protegees are ALL OVER the strip standing on stools with a handheld mikes preaching the gospel. And people were listening in droves... Nowhere near as many as them as people handing out prostitute phone numbers but it was so great to see these guys (didn't see any gals) proclaiming Jesus with boldness and getting some immediate results and also (if you know Comfort's style) getting many to think about the seed planted in their hearts. Have seen Comfort and Kirk Cameron on TV many times but have tons more respect for them and thier soul winning methods after having seen these guys in action. Check them out, the Way of the Master is a very worthwhile ministry to support and pray for. | ||

I wonder where all of jimito's buds are that say over and over and over that God is no respecter of persons (which is true), yet here "he" is talking as if someone's personal appearance has anything to do with the work they do? getagrip, I have met and had discussions with Ray. I had a small disagreement with him about his methods a few years back. He was all about ONLY preaching the bad news and adamant showing people what sinners they were and they deserve hell. Using the law...and the ten commandment thing of his. My Bible says the same thing his Bible says. I showed him that the Bible says "IT is the good news of God that leads people to repentance" Romans 2 and we are told to Go preach the GOOD NEWS. Mark 16 The Bible also says that unbelievers are condemned already and know they are sinners in their heart. Romans 1 etc. (They only become dull to hearing their inner man because they harden their hearts and minds against God over the years.) Ray has since tweaked his ways and found better results in it. He now says " use the law for the unresceptive(hardhearted) to get them receptive, and use Gods grace for those who are receptive. I have always showing the Gospel(good news) has better results. Their are times you use the law to nail someone to the cross about their own self righteousness sin etc. but you still include that with the good news of being saved from that. The word Gospel means "good news" and that is what we are called to preach. It is all good news since Jesus took the penalty of sin, and Gods love is poured out and made available to all who decides to ask and receive. | ||

Hey Trs/Bach... Yes the Bible instructs us to teach both "grace" and "truth" (or law as Comfort does), it's in Psalms and I'm not interested in looking it up right now... overloading in either direction can cause problems. You would have enjoyed watching them go at it on the Strip. Asking people questions and making them admit THEMSELVES that they are lying, adulterous, murderous, thieves... the silence following is profound and several gave their lives to God on the spot, several others have certainly done so since. I overload on grace and love when I present the gospel, and I have to admit candidly that his "process" or "plan" or "system" or whatever he calls it is more effective. It was awesome to watch in action. | ||
