I HAVE BEEN DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE DIFFERENT NAMES FOR SATAN/DEVIL AND WITHIN ABOUT 3 HRS OF MY RESEARCH I THREW UP MY HANDS AND SAID FORGET IT, FOR THERE ARE SO MANY IDEAS AND SPECULATIONS FOR THIS THAT I DECIDED TO START FROM THE VERY BEGINING, BUT ONLY AFTER I GET A FEW OPINIONS FROM A FEW OPEN MINDED PEOPLE.... Hello, Satan has many roles and in Scripture those roles are defined by different names. He is called Lucifer, as you are aware, the counterfeit to the "bright and morning star" which is Christ. He is also called the Serpent, and contrary to fundamentalist beliefs, satan did not appear nor was he turned into a snake in Eden. That is a simple figure of speech, which even has its counterpart in English, when we say someone is a real "snake in the grass." He is the "King of Tyre" in Isaiah. He is the "desolator" of Daniel, (some translations render Dan. 9:27 "abomination of desolation" but better translated "desolator.") He is also Appollyon and Ababdon of Revelation 9, both meaning "destroyer" in their respective languages. He is also "Legion, for we are many." Mark 5:9. In other words, he had angels, the fallen ones, with him. There are more, such as "the wicked" or the "wicked one" so we can continue the discussion if you wish. | ||

lucifer who was created by GOD JEHOVAH was a light bearer in heaven but when he was lifted up in himself with pride he sinned and fell. GOD JEHOVAH then cast him out of heaven, he cecame satan, the serpent , the old dragon, the evil one, the deveiver, the tempter and many more names is given to him who is the deceiver of mankind. | ||

The name Lucifer means morning star, a title that is one of Christ's titles. Satan tries to emulate (copy)Christ all through out the bible....hence anti-Christ (instead of Christ), another of Satan/Lucifer's titles. Satan is the Adversary, who is Lucifer(Isaiah), the Old Serpent(Rev/Gen), the Accusor, the man of Lawlessness(Dan), the son of Perdition(see Ezekiel-he will be destroyed forever in the lake of Fire). Satan is an angel, created by God. Lucifer is one of his titles....and there are many titles, and many types for him. They are one in the same created being. Satan is not cast from heaven yet(see Job), but will be soon enough, marking the beginning of the Great Tribulation of the anti-Christ.(Rev12) Satan's evil spirit most definitely exists today here on earth, as we can all attest to. He was aloud on earth in those days, he was in the Garden. It was part of God's plan. Later in Job, we find Satan in Heaven. Later we find him back on earth tempting Christ. Satan could go back and forth, but when Christ died in the flesh, the VEIL was RENT ...which means that Satan is now bound in heaven until he is released back to the earth....and that will be the beginning of the Tribulation. This is a literal translation of the Hebrew text, it has nothing to do with Satan. Otherwise (if you believe the serpent seed) Lucifer has a Father called Shachar! Doesn't anybody use their GOD GIVEN INTELLIGENCE when they read Holy Scripture? This is the fate of Protestants in general, they base their interpretation of Scripture on nothing more than their own WHIMS. this is what happens when the bible is taken literally. the interpretations are countless and everyone insists they are right. it is not just people like arnold murray, it is christianity in general. sorry GC i know you are a christian. it is the people at the top. the ones that everyone listens to that are to be held responsible. it sickens me to see the things that people are taught. it all does nothing but cause dissension. christians fight each other and then condemn to hell those that won't listen to them. it is just madness. |
