Seems like the won building permission in direct violation of city zoning laws. ***************** So where was the Mayor when his Planning Commission approved the Bethel project on the historic Seward Hall property in violation of the Municipal zoning ordinance? Nowhere. At Seward Hall, the City did not have to spend a dime, much less $2.5 million. All they had to do was enforce their own zoning ordinance. The difference between Carnton and Seward Hall was a question of back yard location. Carnton was in the Mayor’s backyard, Seward Hall was not. |

Hi all, I have not posted in awhile, but thought I would report on what I read in "The Tennessean" yesterday. It reported that Bethel World Outreach in Brentwood had sold surrounding properties that they own near the church for around three million dollors. Just thought I would keep you up to date from Franklin, TN |

MMR, thanks for the update. I'm not surprised and had been waiting for this for a while. They were sitting on a gold mine up there and once their original plans for expansion in Brentwood fell through it didn't make sense for them to continue to hold on to all that property if they couldn't expand there, esp. since their short term mortgage on the Seward Hall property has just come due as well. Since these tracts have all been sold to the same developer, one wonders if there are similar plans for BWOC's main Brentwood property, esp. if/when the Seward Hall main sanctuary construction gets underway. Has there been any progress on the youth center construction as of late? |

I guess that explains why there has recently been a large amount of progress with the construction of the building there. |

Will the assets from the sale be credited back to those that tithed ? Well I know the answer already .... "When God Spoke to our apostles directing us to buy up property he overlooked the planning laws..on behalf of his almightiness we apologise... but hold on whats that.. its a crackly line .. but we can hear his voice telling us it was his master plan and that we are to use the monies in other buildings or mortgages." rejoice. Disclaimer... EN will not be held responsible for the Apostolic message not being fulfilled. |

We know that Rice and company took some money out, equities. So we dont know how much is left, they still have to pay that back. When they sold Palos verdez, they sold it also for $3 million but Since Phil Bonasso stole so much of the equity , only $500,000 was given back to them. Far less than what we originally paid for. Which is $875,000. With all the property value gone down , I don't think Rice and Company got much profit from it. |

Has anyone heard any news that Bethel was considering buying a church in Old Hickory, TN that is for sell and using it as a satelite location? |

I hadn't heard that yet. It wouldn't surprise me, though. They are building quite the network for themselves not just in middle TN, but also extending to Florida. They call it the "one church on multiple campuses" approach. It's certainly one way for Bethel (and its many pastors) to survive financially outside of Every Nation and Champions for Christ, particularly since those funding streams don't seem to have done so well in the last couple of years. According to the Nashville GIS, Bethel does not currently own property in Old Hickory, so it apparently hasn't advanced that far yet. |
