For me Cascade was not brain washing or anything. I did not even graduate from there, but I can say that is changed my life. I would not be where I am now if it was not for that school. You take what you get from it. I now know more about myself and am closer with my family than ever. If you want to think it was a waist of your time then you would not take the time to write this. You know their was something thats why your so pissed. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!! | ||

This is a bunch of crap. Some people touched on it correctly. You got out of Cascade what you put into it. If you want to be mad about what got you there, then be mad, it was yourself. I know all of u individually from what it seems, you want to be honest about Cascade, it requires u being honest with yourself. So lets be honest, Cascade, and your experiance had a lot to do with yourself, your family and then the school. None of them more significant then the other. If you want to get caught on the things u can't change(the school) then it shows why u having trouble making whatever other changes to grow to better accept and understand what is out of your control. I think you should be glad Cascade was as good as it was and that you didn't get sent to Tranquility Bay or Island View. I know and understand myself and the world better than almost anybody I know and have a clear advantage emotionally, mentally and with maturity than those double my own age. Learn to deal with the power of what u learned rather than have it keep you paralyzed looking for justifications to blame. I use the lessons Cascade taught me, and I taught myself...learned thru experiance...at Cascade daily. I am a much better person and learned those lessons in a much more safe and productive environment than I'm sure I could have outside..The truth is, perhaps I wouldn't have even made it this far without such a great opportunity and experiance to grow. Bitter at their own life decisions and what they've gotten out of it. Too bad, you could have gotten and taken something much greater from it if you only loved yourself enough to believe in a better life, possibilities and future...and if you loved yourself enough to...love yourself. | ||

Some of the people that once worked and lead the school left due to restructuring. Environment in a place like Cascade is fragile. As a business they were not prepared for the faculty and ownership transition, this along with each graduating class losing a little something from those before in my opinion led to the school and its saftey, hoensty, authenticity began to fall apart...deteriorate. Some of this happend when u were there and with your family, some with mine and the final a couple years later. Society is changing and has changed dramatically, this was something obvious to me with every new begining school. Cascade and its owners were not prepared or willing to do what it took to adapt and transition to the changes. Some of it was that people just stopped believing...like America...In the end you can blame the President, Congress etc. but much of the responsibility lies on each of our individual shoulders. In many ways we all let down Cascade a little, even those of us that really benefited from it. | ||

so, here i am just finding out about cascade school. i went there for two years. and in my adult years i found lots of things that were strikingly beautiful. and some things that were just wrong. now that i have kids it's a whole new world. i am not sure what i think about the whole cascade school. but, what i am wondering is what ever happened to that school. and what ever happened to people like barbara cass, or craig cass, or eric melzer, or annie, or all of the staff. does anyone know. email me at sunlightrays@aol.com. | ||

I went to Cascade years ago, I did not graduate I got transfered to another school in Utah. I was really angry when I got to Cascade because my parents tricked me as most kids were, I came to cascade all the way from Africa. I think that a lot of people were angry about being there and maybe still are angry. Even though I did not graduate from Cascade I can say that I got a lot out of the program and the other programs I went to. I now work in the Teen Intervention industry. I take kids to some really messed up schools that I dont agree with so all in all when I think about Cascade it was not as bad as some of these other programs.
