Mormonism and Catholicism - Dan Corner

MORMONISM
1. Claims itself to uniquely be “the Church”
2. Claims a unique and authoritative priesthood, thereby denying the royal priesthood of all believers
3. Adds to the Holy Bible (with the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price)
4. Accepts multiple satanic visions as being from God
5. Undermines the power of Jesus’ blood by its view of personal suffering for the expiation of sins
6. Sings praise songs about Joseph Smith, Jr.
7. Has strange doctrines regarding marriage (polygamy accepted in early days)
8. Believes in God the mother (who has conceived multitudes of spirit children)
9. Claims the head of their group speaks infallibly at times
10. Redefines “saint” to mean a living, breathing Mormon, instead of a bible-defined child of God
11. Accepts and spreads “another gospel” (Gal. 1:8,9) — good works, water baptism and church membership
12. Doctrines are sending millions to Hell and they need to be openly refuted with Scripture

CATHOLICISM
1. Claims itself to uniquely be “the Church”
2. Claims a unique and authoritative priesthood, thereby denying the royal priesthood of all believers
3. Adds to the Holy Bible (with sacred tradition)
4. Accepts multiple satanic visions as being from God
5. Undermines the power of Jesus’ blood by its view of personal suffering for the expiation of sins
6. Sings praise songs about Mary
7. Has strange doctrines regarding marriage (celibacy still practiced among clergy)
8. Believes in the mother of God (who is the sinless Queen of Heaven)
9. Claims the head of their group speaks infallibly at times
10. Redefines “saint” to mean a physically dead Catholic who was afterwards “canonized,” instead of a bible-defined child of God
11. Accepts and spreads “another gospel” (Gal. 1:8,9) — good works, the sacraments, Mary and church membership
12. Doctrines are sending hundreds of millions to Hell and they need to be openly refuted with Scripture

granite, everything you stated is true. Oddly, Joseph Smith called the Catholic Church 'an abomination'. In fact, all other churches were, but I heard many times in mormon sacrament meetings that the catholic church was the 'mother of abominations'.

Granite, where did the Bible come from?

Secondly, where does the Bible say that everyone has the priesthood ministry?

Third, where does the Bible say it is the *only* rule of Faith???

Also, both Christ and Paul applauded celibate concecration, so who's wrong?

And what Satanic vision has the Church accepted as being from GOD?

Where does the Bible condemn sacred Tradition?

And, since when should we not sing praises for the Mother of GOD?

Your posits are riddled with inaccuracies and venom. You need to rethink this thesis...it's wrong.

In His Grace,

miki

A few other other things:

What do both the New and Old Testament declare to be "true religion"?

What doctrines send millions to hell?

Where are the Sacraments condemned in Scripture?

In His Grace,

pointless, Are you suggesting the Bible came from Catholics?

1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who have not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Faith is not a denomination. Faith is believing. In believing, loving one another.

Being celebate is honorable as is marriage. Celibacy, however, is not a requirement for the priesthood.

Illuminati.

Where in the Bible do you see men 'praising the mother of Jesus'?

James 1:27 Undefiled religion before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Idolatry.

Many sacraments weren't condemned, they were done away with when Jesus' sacrifice fulfilled the law.

Believes in the mother of God (who is the sinless Queen of Heaven)

I don't get it? who is the mother of God?

aren't you meaning that Mary is the mother of Jesus?

God doesn't have a Mom. he/she/it is symbol of supreme being on monotheistic societies, right? tell me i'm right.

if there is only one supreme being; then how can he have a Mom? doesn't make sense.
