Blessed be to you all my brothers and sisters in Christ. I have had a disturbing involvement with a location that is filled with varioius ungodliness, gossip, and many other variences of evil doings dwelling from the Pastor to so many involved there.
This past Sunday after many weeks of Prayer, I left this place. I had confronted the Pastor in accordance to the Bible regarding the fact that there are things he is doing that aren't righteous or holy, and the place he calls a church has NO ELDERS to hold him accountable.
Many people before me have confronted this man about him many questionable doings, and the response that we are given by Mark Carini (acting Pastor) is, "This is MY CHURCH, I will run it the way I want. You don't tell me how to run MY CHURCH". I was told by others this is what he said, and when I confronted him, he told me the same thing.
The Church as any practicing Christian knows, does not belong to the Pastor, it belongs to the Lord & to those that come and worship in His. I know that when you trap a snake in the corner, they will attack you. Just as I had confronted Mark Carini about his wrongful doings, he struck back at me. I decided that it was time to end my involvement with this location. Too many folk there refuse or turn their head or are blind & don't hold him accountable for the many questionable things they themselves don't agree with or don't approve of.
I left quietly, without a scene. You'd think the door was closed for me at that point. I went immediately to another location to talk to the Pastor there. I introduced myself and that I had been attending Jesus Alive. The response was, "I'm Soooo Sorry, WE WON'T HOLD THAT AGAINST YOU!" Obviously the reputation of Mark Carini and the Jesus Alive cult like activity going on in there has been received at this other church.
I have since been under a good deal of attacks stemming all from this man(who satan appears to be working through). That very evening I was contacted in regards to a very disturbing answering machine message that Mr. Carini made in regards to me, stating he didn't care if I heard it. Hence the guy felt I should. My 16 yr old daughter were standing together, while the Mark Carini's daughter was on the phone as well listening to this message. (I wanted to make sure that there were others to wittness the disgusting slander and abuse that was stemming from this man, & it would prove through the wittnessing of others that this actually was truly done and not just a disgruntled Christian)

nyway, we us 4 listened to this message. Mark Carini stated to this man (who mind you has been trying to help me get a job with his company, as well locate a church to attend) He stated, "Stay away from her (me), Do not let her come to your church, do not let her be a part of your church, she will rip it apart (in so many words) she will cause you and everyone in that church a great deal of trouble (something to this affect... the words he exactly said) Quoting him, She is WICKED, DEMON POSSESSED & MARRIED!
Later that evening it came to my attention through another friend in Christ that Mark had told others that I am sleeping around!!!
This man calls himself a pastor? He's been attacking me, slandering my name. Wicked, Demon Possessed, Married & Sleeping around, these are just some of the lovely things that he is telling people.
I have to close the Door on this part of my life, as Mark Carini really has caused so much heart ache, stress, depression from within his church. His ring leader tactics in the center of this 3 ring circus of gossip sucks you in, and it festers in you like a cancer. I found myself sufficating. I found myself turning into something miserable, and I allowed myself to be tricked & manipulated by him through his gossip & questionable dealings. I've found him to be a Glutten, a Gossip, Dishonest, Inconsiderate, Selfish, and a Child Abuser. (yes I said that, and Yes I've seen it! So has my daughter!) We are fearful of his Son who is punched and beaten by his father. Another curious thing, his wife who helps out at the church who I've spent many a day fellowshiping with is 90% of the time miserable herself. She's not glowing in Christ, filled with the fire and the spirit of the Lord, lacking passion. She's usually sick, tired, attacked with head aches and who knows. I ask that you pray for Mr. Carini and his family, and all of the misguided folks that go to worship in this location, & through Mr. Carini.
If this were a man of God, he would not use the church to exploit the exemption, to insist he's poor & yet spend so much on vacations, week family retreats, others fun, concerts etc... He holds no job outside the church, and collects rent on some property he owns.
Before I can close the door, I need to make sure I put the warning flag out there for others. My warning flag is that you not attend this church. If you truly wish to seek the Lord, you will have a hard time finding it there.
If anyone else has been there, feel free to post your findings. I wish all you peace and blessings. Now that I am closing the door on this location, I can go through the next door the Lord has opened for me.

Was that church following the Purpose Driven Church program by Rick Warren?
There are many stories like yours from people who challenge church authorities that follow the PDC. |

un4gtble - Thanks for posting your experience. I'm glad you cared enough that others know what is going on there.
I left there almost 5 years ago, after going for almost 10. I can attest that all of the things un4gtble is saying is true, though it seems that it has gotten worse.
I won't go into detail what happend when I was there, it's pretty much the same, and it's mainly a "text-book" Bible Cult...
I'm glad you moved on and hopefully God is using you in a well balanced ministry. |

Mark Carini is a self proclaimed pastor not annointed or elected. He refers to his 501 c 3 as his License, however this he had typed by one of his unsuspecting followers in his "home church" in River Grove, ILL. His tuesday night Bible Study at his home address had a collection for a building purchase. Carini then pilfered the collection to buy himself expensive things for his own Home. He later was featured in a news article as a charlatin in the River Grove Messenger, for extorting funds from renters in a building he had no legal right to be in, although he said this was to be the 'Church". The Police were called and Carini was removed. This is the reason he moved his flock to Bensenville, ILL where he continues to pander and fleece the congregants. } |

Also, stay well away from anything having to do with their Christian Coffee House - it's just a base for recruitment.
