I left the church at the age of twelve, for which my father hated me to no end. Is a father's love nothing more than a religious creed? Perhaps I wanted to know. Question: Is a compulsory priesthood moral? A Mormon born youth must join at age twelve. I didn't want to do so. Wherefore I was damned. Must every male member hold the magic priesthood? Think about it. It may be the ultimate chink in the armor of LDS dogma--you must perform the magical rites at age twelve--no exceptions. There's nothing special about universal conscription. A draft is a draft, and this one's a whopper! DON B. |

Don, I know just what you have gone through. I became a mormon girl at the age of thirteen. I left the church at age 38, and 20 years later my family despises me for it. They hid those feelings until I recently decided to talk about it. They use the reason "you have hurt Mom". None of them are active members (never have been) except for my mother, who said she loves the church and would die for it, and the one yelling the loudest left the mormon church at age 18 when she married a Russian Orthodox man. She has studied witchcraft, (my granddaughters have told me how she used magic on them), and studied "Unity" for awhile but don't know her beliefs now. None of that matters to them, except that I opened my mouth against mormonism. Mormons insist they do not cause problems in the lives of ex-mormons. I just posted an article yesterday on http://www.cultbusters.com.au about Michael Quinn, former Professor of Mormon History at BYU. He has been unable to find a job in his field and now lives with his mother. They continue to control our lives by punishing us in ways that if it weren't called a church would be totally illegal, and considered unethical and immoral. They are above the law; the Laws of God and the laws of man. I am proud to 'stick out' amongst men who while claiming freedom of choice, deny people that choice. When I left the mormon church, my husband's father called him out to his home to speak to him. When my husband came home, he said his father said "she has given her soul to satan". Why do they care when they teach that every person will become mormons during the millenium. They can not bear exposure to the truth that they teach false doctrines. For years they have been wanting to be included with Christian churches, but they deny that those same people can have salvation without becoming a mormon. It is hypocrisy! God is in control, and will not be mocked! |
