This letter was posted earlier at another forum I am a part of. The devil does not take it lightly that we reach into his domain. We are now at a secret place and I have use of a computer. Our lives have been sparred. Dear Friends, I am writing for Sis Alvear. She would write herself except that last night, twelve armed bandits broke into the chacara (farm) where they live and stole their car, computers, cell phones and anything else of value from the house. At 6 a.m. brazilian time, they came in, 2 bandits standing guard at every house. They put a gun to one of our brother's heads that had come to work early, took him to one of the sister's house, put a gun to her head, told her if her little boy woke up and yelled they would shoot him. They then proceeded calmly to the Alvear's house, broke the lock and went into the house, waking the Alvears. Before it was all over they took their youngest son along with a car full of their valuables, after threatening their lives if they called the police. A short while later they let their son go in a nearby village, someone helped him get a bus and come home. I ask you to please pray for protection for the Alvears, their family, our church members, and all work with us. Please pray, this is a very urgent need. May God bless you for taking us upon your heart. Sis Amy Santos Any financial help can be sent to the Alvears at: Pastor Bryan Taylor PO Box 797 Jonesville, LA 71343 |

Sister Santos, Thanks for sharing with us the attack from the enemy on Sister Alvear and her family. Our prayers and thoughts will be with her and no doubt God will bring victory and restore those items that were stolen. Would you make checks to Alvears or Bryan Taylor. I do not know if Alvear is first or last name. Do they have a ministry name? Please clarify as I may not be the only one confused and I know many will want to participate in the blessing it would be to help financially. Thanks Under Grace |

We were advised by authorities to get away for a few days as they will mount a security system around the church and community. The bandits only took a couple of our people hostage to get to us. Being foreigners they think we have LOTS of money. We were held at gun point for around 4 hours. We gave them all the church money, community money and our money at their request. They took computers, laptops, electrical items, small kitchen appliances, a few things from the church that was at our house, overhead projector, etc plus our car. I could not see all they took as they filled boxes of things from draws... However after they got everything I asked them if I could say something...The leader said yes....so I proceeded to tell them the story of Jesus and ask they if I could call them "sons" the leader once again said yes. In the end one of the bandits said his mother and grandmother were believers and I reached out (by this time they knew we would do nothing to try to harm them) and put my arm on the leaders arm and told him, You need to leave this way of life and get to know Jesus...I saw his eyes fill with tears( that’s all we could see as they had ski masks on) he said, I have a wife and two children and you are right... They took our youngest son hostage with them locked us up in the bedroom and left... We did not know if a part of them were in our house so we made no efforts to leave the room until sometime later our son returned they had let him out several miles from there... I did not know if yesterday would be our last day on earth but once again we were glad to witness even to the bandits. I do have the use of a computer where I am. It is early in the morning I kept in contact with a borrowed cell phone with our people until around 2 this morning and just called. No one has been outside yet but no homes were broke into unless they came back and got back into ours during the night as no one is there. We did not go to the police for they told us they would be watching the evening news and if we did they would come back and kill us. This is a third world country and we live in the poorest state where our lives are in constant danger. That is not our first experience with robbers and bandits but it was a very close call. I do not have time to go into all details at this moment but for those that may feel lead to help us you can by sending anything to my home address. Checks can be made out to South American foreign Missions at the address Amy gave. We do not have insurance on things other than our car in part. The devil would like to take our lives but we belong to Jesus and we know He is watching and we will only depart when it is HIS will. Other than the shock I felt no fear only compassion for those misguided poor lost men...We must pray for them and their families and oh how their wives must suffer...Please as soon as you read this pray for them don't bother to pray for our stolen goods to be found those are only material "things" pray for those men...they could make tremendous preachers. |

Hi Missionary_Lady, Thank you for sharing with us, and your heart and your burden for the souls of those men trapped in violence and darkness. May the Lord Jesus give you and family and church and friends a special grace at this time. Yours in Jesus Name, Praxaluh |

Friends, This sad news is accompanied by another tragedy this past weekend. Four young people, all former members of HH, were involved in a car wreck. All were thrown from the vehicle. One young man died from his injuries yesterday, Monday. Another young man underwent surgery and is said to be in serious but stable condition. A young woman had a collapsed lung but it was reinflated and she is in pain but no broken bones. Another young man received no serious injuries. I am withholding names. Many of you may already know of this. If you wish more information, contact me privately. You can pray and the Lord knows the needs of the families. One young man’s father is an elder in HH. We are starting the new year before God in prayer for the needs of those we care about. I believe we all share a common concern and care for each one who posts here and those that are dear to each. What a dear soul is Sister Alvear. What a beautiful witness to the Life of Christ in her. Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” Praise God! |

I have been told that the funeral for JR will be held Friday on the land in the worship center. JRs mom and sibblings are still in HH. Not much chance that anyone from Pheonix or Waco will be allowed on the land or the sanctuary. Please pray for this mom and the two surviving sibblinbs of JR. Pray also that HH leaders will not use this tragedy to set fear in the hearts of the HH members. Pray also for the three who survivied the accident. They will have a lot to deal with, not just physically, but emotionally. Continue to pray for Sister Alvear and her fellow beleivers in Brazil for their safety. God bless you all. |

Old Watchman, It would behoove you to hold your tongue when you know not that of which you speak. The family of this young man has asked several ex-HH members to attend the funeral. It is my personal opinion that meddlers such as yourself should stay away from this grieving family and let them decide who attends the funeral without having to deal with your self-rightous and misguided pontifications. Your prayer request concerning the HH leaders, and your un-informed "report" about who will be attending the funeral is nothing more than a politicization of this sad event...........SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!! Have you no conscience? |

Mr. Dowen, In my experience a funeral is open to anyone (unlike a wedding or party) who would like to attend and say their last goodbyes and offer their condolances. This is why the date, time and place are announced in a local paper. Is this the same with Homestead Heritage? A Concerned Citizen |

Amen DOwen !!!!!!!!!!!!! My heart also goes out to those who suffer with this loss. May God be with you and comfort you. To concerned citizen……..your statement………. …”In my experience a funeral is open to anyone”… I lost a very dear friend a few months back. He was 76 years of age and died of prostate cancer. The family decided to have a grave side service for family members only. I had known this man for many years and I was a little hurt not being able to attend but I respected the family wishes. In my experiences each family usually decides what type of service they prefer. Some are open to any and everyone. Many, especially when it is a sudden loss due to an accident or illness, are more private. A private funeral service is one that is closed to the public. This service is by invitation only and may be held at a place of worship, a funeral home or a family home. Usually, selected relatives and a few close friends attend the funeral service. Please respect whatever decision this family makes. God Bless you all, Pureheart |

Dear Friends, I will never forget last Monday morning. A masked gang of heavily armed robbers came onto our property and into our home. Marcela’s mother knocked on our bedroom window wanting me to unlock our hall door. Since it was so early, I thought someone was sick or something. When I unlocked the door there stood four of the bandits completely dressed in black with ski masks. They pointed their guns at me and told me they were there for money and other valuables. The other bandits stood guard as they took us to our bedroom. They kept us there while others went through our house packing up what they wanted. What did our house look like after the robbery? I described it as if someone had run a truck through the house. Every drawer in the bedrooms were pulled out of their place and dumped on the floor. Clothes were pulled out of closet and thrown everywhere. All of our briefcases, computer cases, purses were emptied in the same manner. I had supplies for our First Aid room by the church in my house they dumped those things on the floor taking what they wanted. Once inside, the intruders went from room to room, yelling and ransacking the house. The men demanded money and electronic things. Our two brand new laptops from the church office were taken along with several older laptops, a projector, radios, tape recorders, several cd players, cameras, speakers that we use at the church, clocks, radar detector, walkie-talkies, microphones, little keepsakes from our drawers, all our money, church money, building fund money. That was just from our room. From the other rooms I saw them carry out two boxes of things. Even my blender was taken! They must have been desperate for money and electronic things to sell for money. However after they got everything I asked them if I could say something. The leader said yes, so I proceeded to tell them the story of Jesus and ask them if I could call them "sons" the leader once again said yes. In the end one of the bandits said his mother and grandmother were believers and I reached out (by this time they knew we would do nothing to try to harm them) and put my arm on the leaders arm and told him, You need to leave this way of life and get to know Jesus...I saw his eyes fill with tears (that was all we could see as they had ski masks on) he said, I have a wife and two children and you are right. It was a miracle that we were not killed as some of the group wanted to do. They took our house and church keys, locked us in our bed room and took our youngest son, Dirlei, with them. They then proceeded to steal our car with all of our things and our son in it. They took him about 20 minutes away and let him out with the key to the room they were locked up in. It was a little bit like watching a movie. There was such a sense of disbelief. This couldn’t be happening. They warned us that if we reported it to the police, that they would come back and kill us. The authorities warned us to not stay at the house, because it was a very dangerous group of bandits that they were dealing with. It is costing us 250 dollars a day to pay the hotel, car we have rented, and food. We could stay at a cheaper place but it would not be safe. Our lives at this moment are in grave danger for they have our computers that have all our information on them. And to top it all, our church van broke down and we must replace the motor and gears. It is going to cost over $1500 to get it fixed the devil is furious with the break through in the Northeast I am writing to ask for the prayers of everyone, because this is a very critical situation. The Lord is moving in Brazil, people are being baptized, souls are being added to the church, but the devil is fighting us each step of the way. We have estimated our loss at around $25,000 including the money they took. Part of the money was dormitory money. We were already going though a lot of battles, especially financially. We have never paid off all the bills from mother’s sickness and then we had so many unexpected things to happen this past year. I know God has great things in store for us and Brazil so with or without what we thought was needed to help carry on the work of God and regardless of what happens we stand firm in our position to win Brazil to the Lord. The winning of souls is more important than our daily bread. We had a great New Year’s watch night service. Next Sunday we are planning to have another baptismal service. Thank the Lord for you our faithful homeland supporters. At this time please remember us in your prayers. Thanks to all for your love and concern. Your Missionary Friends Brother and Sister Raul Alvear PS Let's remember to pray for the bandits...they have a precious soul that Jesus died for. |

A Update: This is our monthly letter for Feb. Thought some of you would like to know how we are doing. Dear Friends in the Homeland: We are still recovering from an armed robbery. Most of you recall on the 2nd of Jan early in the morning our mission compound was attacked by about 12 hooded men with automatic weapons. They had climbed over our fence and hid in the house Brother Michael is building and took first Bro. Siscero into their custody and then Sister Fatima they had got into our main door but to our hall door leading to our bedroom was locked. At gunpoint they had Sister Fatima knock on our window and ask me to unlock the hall door. . I thought someone had got sick and they needed the car so I jumped out of bed and when I opened the door there they stood with guns pointed at me and at Sister Fatima?s head. They had brother siscero on the floor with guns pointed at him. They took all our money, cell phones, laptops, cameras, cd players, projectors and many other things including our car. No-one was hurt; even though at they locked us in the bedroom and took our son with them at gunpoint. We spent almost two weeks at a secured hotel downtown but now have returned home. Security is being increased, we have worked all January and this month on raising up our fences and changing all gates and putting in new locks and some places we changed the doors for stronger ones. We have put bars on our church office buildings and Sunday school rooms so no one could jump from there over into our property. We also put up an electric fence and got a monitor system put in...We could have built a several churches for what we are spending on those things but the police feel we are still being watched by maybe an international gang. We did not have the police come to our house and only talked with them at a distant location there was no way for them to take fingerprints. We did not let them come as the bandits threatened our lives if we did, We also have to have a guard or guards. It is a dangerous time right now because the north of Brazil is run by gangsters and at election time they rob, kill, and kidnap to make lots of money for them to stay in power. This month several more robberies took place that followed the same pattern as our robbery except people were killed and 3 ladies were raped. The owner of the restaurant in our village was kidnapped. We and our people ask for your prayers. |

We are so thankful for the angel of the Lord that was with us in that most frightening experience. I really feel that the reason they did not keep our son and ask for ransom money was because we told them about Jesus. We have suffered trauma and had several more frightening experiences but one thing we know for certain when the devil fights God has great things in store. The realities are that violence and danger is what life is like in this area of Brazil, nothing is for certain. Life is a bit tenuous, at best. However we have had wonderful services. New people have come to the Lord We went ahead and had our youth camp as was planned even though we had to pay armed guards to protect our home and church. The youth camp was awesome with around 200 in attendance. Our young people and Bro. Ryan's had a wonderful time together Pastor Hugo from south Brazil was our special speaker in fact he stayed 7 days had 14 services plus morning devotions with the church workers! This month we had 2 baptismal services and several new ones have come to the Lord. One new area is asking us to start a church we have found a building for sale for 7 thousand dollars. We have 10 in that area that has received the Holy Ghost and several more seeking the Holy Ghost. The area is ripe for a church but we would have to have someone to sponsor this need. We had a special seminar for ladies with over 125 present. We are seeing growth and seminars are a wonderful way to help them grow in the knowledge of the word of the Lord. |

At this moment our son Brother Arlei and his family are traveling to the state of Ceara for special services. We just helped Brother Raul Jr make a round in the interior of the state Of Sao Paulo 5 received the Holy Ghost. He also visited the new church we are building in Vargen Grande and plans were made to put the floor in. (we build the walls then do the floor here)It is going to be very big. We have a growing congregation in that city. Next week we are sending money to south Brazil to make rounds at some of the northeast district churches in the state of Sao Paulo. Next week we are taking a group of our people for the Interior Alagoas convention hosted by Bro. Ryan. No wonder the devil is trying to kill us with all that God is doing among our works. Next month we with Brother Michael and his family are making a trip to south Brazil for the ladies conference in that area and Brother Michael and Brother Alvear will be going for a special youth retreat of our churches in the state of Minas Gerias. Sister Marcela and I will be helping Sister Michelli in the ladies conference. . are going to go by car it is a long dangerous trip as many of you know but we can not afford to buy air tickets so please be praying for our safety. In Brazil, 40,000 people are killed, annually, by firearms, according to the United Nations. The country's private sector alone spends US$ 24 billion a year for protection. While having only 2.8 percent of the planet's population, Brazil is responsible for 11 percent of all the homicides committed on earth. Unequal distribution of land and wealth have hindered development; insensitive exploitation by multinationals and the corruption of politicians have helped to keep Brazil poor and dangerous There is a lot of crime. You have to be very careful when you live in our area. You just don't go walking at night even with the people. |

Unequal distribution of land and wealth has hindered development; insensitive exploitation by multinationals and the corruption of politicians have helped to keep Brazil poor. But it is to these people that God would have us to live, to work, and to give our life. Other than our car which many helped us replace we are suffering from the need of the laptops they stole. Computers are very expensive in Brazil but it is impossible to run our regional office, write our letters, have bible studies ready for all Brazil without the help of our computers so I am making an appeal in Jesus Name if anyone that is reading this letter could help us get some laptops. They are easier to get to Brazil than desktops and we have no money to buy desktops here as they cost around 2000 dollars for simple ones in our area. The reason we have used laptops I can get them cheaper in the states than I can buy desktops here and they are easier to get in the country than desktops. THANKS FOR SO MANY PRAYERS |

Some have asked about our safety since the robbery. I cannot say much on a public board since the robbers took our computers etc...but as of late we have had a special police maybe like your FBI guarding our home and churches. They are trained to protect people from being kidnapped... Very expensive....but these special police have been touched by our people and our church. |

Our Sister and her ministry are always in our hearts and prayers to Jesus. She is one of many who are fulfilling the Great Commission that our LORD commands us to bring the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" One of the great blessings of posting on this site is getting to know those who are fulfilling Holy Scriptures today. Speaking of the Great Commission I am amazed at these testimonies; at how HH has completely ignored Holy Scriptures to suit BA's agenda: Posted on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 - 5:24 pm: By TH; ________________________________________ "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15b Pure Heart, You do know that HH believes this time is over don't you? They believe the door to the gentiles has been shut, thats why they don't focus on missionary work, thats why they don't witness on the street or at their fairs. They, believe that if you are a gentile and have not begun your journey, its to late for you. If you're not a gentile grafted into the jewish vine, or a blood jew its to late. Thats why they claim to be a light set on a hill, drawing all pilgrims to them. If you are walking down the path to perfection you will be drawn to their light, if you are not drawn to them you are a lover of darkness, there is no light in you. Or another way they put it is, to some we are the stench of death, but to others the aroma of life. If HH stinks to you, you are not in Christ. (according to them) (End quote.) It is impossible for the Word of God to suddenly change; that Jesus Christ would re-tract or substitute the Great Commission specifically for HH only. Another testimony: Posted on Saturday, February 17, 2007 - 9:28 am: By Fh; ________________________________________ MJ, a new member and friend of mine, made a bunch of cross-stitched book marks for the fair. She did beautiful work. But when she went to hand them in, over half of them were turned down because they had a cross shape or a cross on them or the word "cross" on it. When she asked why, she was told they might be offensive to a visitor. We were so desperate to conform to the group and be accepted that we didn't see this red flag. To deny the cross of Jesus... or to be ashamed of it... And they say the fair is their big out reach of the year... I saw some scripture there, heard some songs about the blood, (which the song leader was later rebuked for sing during an HH meeting,) but not a mention of the "cross" of Jesus. Just like you will NOT hear the Gospel preached at the fair. I never heard it preached in any meeting in my seven years at HH. |

I can add to these testimonies…I remember walking out of a Sunday meeting when it dawned on me that the Name of Jesus was not even mentioned once during the meeting; that the message of the gospel and salvation through our LORD Jesus Christ was not included in Blair’s teachings-he was busy ranting on and on about the teachings of various authors and yes, Hitler’s regime. It was the small, still voice of the Holy Spirit inside of me that began to point this out to me. It is very scary to realize something is terribly wrong in the church that for years I had poured myself, my finances, my everything into. Jesus Christ is stronger than my heart, and He alone helped me the day I left HH behind. For the first time in over 6 years I began bringing people to God again!!! When the fruits in your life become bringing people to Jesus Christ; finding your place in our LORD’S corporate global body- instead of pouring yourself out for Blair’s vision, it is undeniable that you are back on track, living once again for our LORD Jesus Christ. To witness the miracles alone is breath-taking! (Message edited by Coveredbyhisblood on January 03, 2008) |

That is something I always asked Sister Roxie about. Why the Name of Jesus was not uplifted? After all it would seem to me that is what serving God is all about...not Hitlers army... |

The only outreach I know of was 7-7-77, when New Life Fellowship/Voice in the Wilderness (I believe that was their name then; I was not in HH yet), organized a camp meeting near the place where Woodstock was held. The idea was to bring those who were drawn to the Woodstock festival in 1969 to God. Several of the HH elders back then had come out of the hippie generation. |

There was no talk about Anabaptists when I joined HH. The HH eldership were open about their past back then. |

I'll help you out a little bit. I have no ax to grind with legitimate faith. |
