Was anyone else forced to throw away their beloved 80s toys (Star Wars, My Little Pony, Smurfs, Care Bears etc) because they were 'satanic'?? I remember there was a whole service dedicated to the throwing away of this toys because they were evil and had demonic influences that could possess you. Years later I find that it was all based on this book called 'Turmoil in the Toybox'. Good grief. |

lamariposa, I have never heard of that book. I would like to though, to see what the uproar was about. My kids were in high school by that time. But I did check it out on the internet. If one man (Phil Phillips) was able to raise such concerns in parents so that they threw out their children's toys, they didn't have a whole lot of faith in their parenting abilities. Good grief is right.
I'm a grandma but I have a stuffed 'tasmanian devil' and I love it. I laugh everytime I turn it on. He's a fat monster with a huge mouth, baring huge teeth, and he says "Me tasmanian devil", then he snarls and growls and his whole body shakes. He's a riot. My grandkids love him too. They are happy, well-adjusted children. |

yes la mariposa spanish for butterfly i couldn't play with many toys and listen to certain types of music-it's amazing how they found a devil behind any door-smurfs,bewitched,wizard of oz-I even broke in half a monkees record - now it would be worth so much money...
