HKBK, Permit me to break the long silence in communication. I wonder how we define the meaning of Brotherhood in SEC. we ought to be our brothers keeper, that i know and also there is an adage that saids "Give a person Fish you have fed him for that day, teach him how to fish, you have fed him for live". So, why cant some of our world birds that are doing very well teach the upcoming world birds how to fish..i believe we are connected enough to help one another. The democracy has made us believe that as far as the life is concern it is who you know that can make things happen for you. There are definitely some bad eggs in SEC, but we should also know that we all pass through all kinds of stages in life to become what we are. A rotten banana does not spoil the whole bunch. Let's try and help each other just as my world dove Iroko has said. Let's use the airlords group judiciously..Paste adverts..Vacancies.. Connect each other and the rest. I can sight some examples of some Birds that have been help by their own fellow bird.After been helped, they turn there back on there brothers. It is simply not fair. In the bible It took them ages to build babylon but it was destroyed in a day. Life is too short for us to be self centered, Be Kind to people you meet on your way up cause you may also meet them on your way down. It's not all about spending fortunes on women, when you have brothers that will always be there for you when the going may be rough.I know some birds may be angry after reading this. HKBK - AIRLORDS. In life there are different stages one passes through, so also in SEC we pass through different stages, from being a Rat - Flying Bird - World Bird. And through all this we learn to face the future cause difficulty has always been the test of manhood. What am trying to say is that we need come together to make SEC, the way it use to be. We have got World Birds all over the world that are doing real well and we thank JJ for that. We keep talking about convention all day long. But nobody wants to do something about it. Little drops of water makes the mighty Ocean. Lets spare a little time and put our resources together and think of ways to organize a convention, seminars or whatever This is very necessary to caution upcoming members of the association from going astray. Schools all over Nigeria are witnessing different kinds of Fraternity clash caused by irrelevant things but the problem is when will this last. On Tuesday at the University of Port Harcourt [mangrove nest] a student was beheaded and a bottle of wine with a machete was dropped on the body also written on the body was WAR WITHOUT END.A week back a bird was attacked by some Ayes in the same mangrove nest.. So i wonder whom the lifeless body belongs to!!! But I am still working on that. Now we hear about woes in Obeche Nest, Picox nest, Ose nest. My rugged brothers, lets use this medium to our own betterment. The plight of any bird be it flying or world is our concern. He who throw stones at the market Square does not know who it is going to touch. Let’s suggest a way out of this predicament. and lets fly happily to a place Janku Janku has set for us all.. My people pls take time to read this. I am not hear to criticise anyone I am only hear to give my opinion and I hope that God will touch the Heart of those who read this. I dont no if people actually derive some form gratification and amusement from the sporadic killings that occur on our campuses. It is very sad to hear about such deaths. Why cant these various group on campus be proud of being a group of people that are known as intellectuals rather than being rugged. Why not be proud of being the best in terms of being successful in life and also help towards the growth and development of the country. Take a moment and think about this. these killing are they good examples we are setting for the younger generation? I dont think so. I no that some people have lost their lives and others are trying to bring justice ....but by taking laws into your hands does not solve anything also violence does not solve the problem instead it only causes more harm and more lives are lost. Attention: Air lords, I was at this site sometime ago last year to solicit for fellow minded Air lords like myself. I'm a World Eagle from Baobab back in the 90s before leaving for the States. I've said it before that fraternities are legal in universities all over the world; and are vehicles of socio-political and economic change within their societies. America today is being shaped by the Skull and Bones and other fraternities known fraternities. Why can't we do same in Nigeria? My goal as a generation X is to bring all other generation X together, enlighten ourselves and figure out ways to help the young Air lords in the universities. What we need to do is use all our connections to make ourselves and youngsters academically superior, and place as many people as we can in all decision making strata of our society. I want to use this medium to as all rugged birds to hold their peace against Bucs, Ayes, Vikkys, Marphys, Pirates, and other fraternities. No fraternity is superior to SEC! We will go back to the drawing boards and draw up a plan that will keep other frats thinking what is going on with SEC. SEC will be a legalized institution in Nigeria and all over the world. This medium here is not the best place to air our plans. Fellow World Air lords, lets get together and make SEC better. I'm currently in Japan and going back to the States in six months. People, I am serious with my proposition. Eiye will hold their peace as soon as we get all the important people together. I want to say thanks to the last Anonymous writer. You are a prime example of people who needs to bring their experiences to the bear hear and tell other ignorant frat members to wake up to reality. I wonder how the viking guy in OAU got into school when he can't even spell. This brings me to my message for today... First of all I want to thank all those guys that wrote me. I got emails from birds and non-birds and was impressed. Now we will make our plan bigger. I'd like to exchange emails and messages with birds, vikings, bucs, ayes and all the other frats. Lets all come together and educate these guys back home that they need to focus more on their books instead of fighting and killing each other. I see some civility developing. As some of you know, I am a rugged world eagle baobab, but I have seen how fraternity is used for networking and the development of humanity. Violence should be a thing of the past in this modern age. There are rugged guys from different frats in London and other parts of the world hooking each other up, helping with jobs and socializing together. Even though they are aware of their different frat backgrounds, they still come together as one and Nigerians. Let us use this avenue to link up, educate our young members, help develop our schools and country. What we need to do is for all the good guys whether buc, eiye, marphy, ayes, pyrates, and all other frats come together and pick a project in Nigeria, such as your old primary school and help provide chairs and writing desks for the students. Or renovate an old school building, better donate text or note books to a primary or secondary school. CHALLENGE TO THE EIYE CONFRATERNITY! With the callibre of graduates that the Eiye Confraternity has, it is a wonder and suprise that as a body we do not hear any positive news from the Eiye as a Group. Since Scoro 8 and the others in the early 90's formed the interconfraternity council to tackle campus violence, nothing has come to light apart from social gatherings and helping each other on a one to one basis. Most attempts at a formal gathering often end up in turning it to a social function. The Eiye Confraternity is underachieving to a level of nonchalance. There is work to be done and society will judge you by your deeds not what you say. The three groups that need the most organisation at campus and indeed the recently initiated level are the Eiye, Vikings and Neo-Black Movement. Remember the aims of fostering brotherhood and fighting oppression and the ills of society that most confraternities were set up to achieve. The recent call for a conference to be held by Eiye is a step in the right direction, but you need to be serious and ready for hard work. Speak to others who have taken those steps and learn from them. During my groups meetings, a large ammount of friction comes with the statement -"the Buccanneers did this" or "the Pyrates did that". However there is no shame in adopting what others have found success in. If you really want to fulfill your potential, then you need to garner a group effort and come out with a powerful message in one voice. Not the disjointed way that well meaning members come out with statements claiming to speak for the SEC. Also over haul your website as it stands all that I see is three pages that have not been updated since the site began (you may claim that that is all that non members are allowed to see, but you know and I know that that is all there is). The website is a valuable tool for reaching out to your members accross the world, and a source of pride to the young and those who discover it. 210604 today: Three feared killed in Ibadan varsity cults' clash From Iyabo Sotunde, Ibadan AT least, three students were feared dead yesterday at the University of Ibadan (UI) in a clash involving two rival cults. Besides, five students sustained severe injuries from matchet cuts in the clash between members of the Eiye Confraternity and Black Axe. The Guardian learnt that the crisis started on Saturday night when members of the two groups engaged in a battle from about 7.30 p.m. till 11 p.m. Sources close to the university community disclosed that the clash reached its peak around midnight as the suspected cult-members enveloped the entire community with gun shots while chasing themselves around the campus. The source hinted that during the clash, one of the students was shot dead at Oba Dam area of the institution and was immediately dumped inside the dam. UI Cult Clash: Death Toll Rises to Six From Ademola Adeyemo in Ibadan Three more people were yesterday found dead at the University of Ibadan following the clash of two rival cult groups over the weekend, bringing the number of those dead to six. advertisement Last Saturday, two rival cult groups Eye Confraternity and Axe were reported to have clashed at the Abadina area of the University campus leaving three students dead. Benin city update, Some wars are sad, others just make no sense. Apparently this is a war of material possession. That nine people can lose their lives over a boundary dispute on a piece of land just beggars belief. So far one Axeman and eight Eiye have lost their lives in Benin over a boundary fence that surrounds a piece of land. Peace breaks out, After marathon talks between the Eiye Confraternity and the Neo-Black Movement in Benin city last weekend, relative peace has prevailed over the week. Benin City stress update, As far as I am aware, there have been sporadic acts of violence in Benin city since the peace plan two weeks ago. These however by the mercy of God have not resulted in any major injury. The last confirmed casualty happened to an innocent member of the public (a friend to one of the groups members)on the actual night that the peace agreement was made in a hotel room in Benin City. This casualty was found the next morning. Both groups are still at maximum alert not only in Benin but across the country and beyond, however the longer this goes on without any major incident the more likely the peace is to last. My fellow countrymen, It is a pity we have lost the dream of our fathers. Our fathers fought for a true Nigeria, a giant of Africa, but we lost the dream. We allowed some elements to use the hate in us to fuster this great nation into shame. This has been made possible by introducing frats in our campuses. Frat in total was made for the radical survival and tackelment of issue that students saw as injustice. In a civilized world higher institute of education is looked up as the strenght of a nation. Govt. do not just any policy out there if it will not be for the betterment of the nation, if there do there have a hand full of students protect to confront with. An example of student power being at force was the "Babagida/Abacha must go" campaign. I do not see such campaign of such structure ever coming again. My point is that the organization and structure that our students should use for the betterment of the nation is spent on frat violence. The cream of our students are carried away in violence, if we use the time spent in frat in organization of student bodies that will influence policy of our nation i.e. a watchdog, I think any polititian will think twice before seeking office. This watchdog can be so powerful that politician will even seek endosement and blessing from it. With the way we are going is not the way, my idea might not be the best, but any idea other than secret cult is better. Students need to weak up and realize the power within them. IT HAPPENED AT IYANA ISOLO BUS STOP, WHEN I WAS RETURNING FROM MY MOTHERS HOUSE ON A SATURDAY NIGHT BY 8.45PM. SOME SET OF IDIOTS ATTACKED ME, AND GAVE ME A BEATING OF MY LIFE FOR NO REASON AT ALL, I WAS ROBBED AND MADE TO RUN OF OF THE PLACE WITH DIFFERENT DEGREES OF WOUND. I KNEW THEY WERE STUDENTS, BECAUSE AT FIRST THEY SAID "U NO KNOW SAY NA LASPOTECH AREA YOU DEY SO" THEY WERE ABOUT 12 IN NUMBER, I FURTHER KNEW THAT THEY ARE CONFRA MEN BECAUSE OF THE BRUSHING THAT THEY GAVE TO ME ON THAT FAITHFUL DAY.
