These people who strive to destroy The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will be held accountable for all there works. I would that the people who read these blatent attacks upon our faith, would ernestly pray with real intent that they may know the truth of the things that these people claim. It grieves me to see such abomination within the Christian community, we are all sons and daughters in the eyes of God, why must there be such evil doings among us to one another? Did Christ not teach us those who love there enemies are more blessed than those who only love there loved ones? Indeed he has. Did Christ teach us to search for the false churchs and destroy them off the face of the earth? Nay, he has not. If we believe in Christ surely we believe in his word. Without intent of offending, if you do not believe the words i have spoken, and claim you are a Christian, you do not believe in the same Christ that i know and are of another Christian faith. The Book of Mormon is another Testimont of Christ, the same Christ who had visited the Jews, the same Christ who was crucified, The Only Begotten Son of God. I know these things are true because the Spirit of Christ and the Holy Ghost dwell within me so that i may be guided and know the truth of all things. A gift given to me by the laying on of hands by the power of the Lords Holy Preisthood. Testimonies you need to know if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. Testimony of the Power of God. Testimony of the Prophets of Old. Testimony of the Bible. Testimony of the Priesthood. Testimony of Christ. Testimony of The Book of Mormon. Testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. Testimony of the Gospel. Testimony of the Church. If you have all these things then you should know and understand the full meaning of the Doctrines of the Gospel. If you cannot understand a Doctrine as we understand them, then you are poorly under qaulified to make judgment as to whether or not these things are true. As was the Law of Moses given to him by God so too are all of the Churchs Doctrine and Ordinainces given through the Prophets by God. (Message edited by Thomas S on August 04, 2005) |

t.s., I know these things to be true because the Holy Spirit (not two spirits) dwells within me to guide me and comfort me. I also have the Holy Bible, God's Word that gives me: Testimony of the power of God. Testimony of the Prophets of the Holy Bible. Testimony of the Holy Spirit. Testimony that the Book of Mormon is not true. Testimony that Joseph Smith was a false prophet. Testimony that the mormon church is not a christian church. Testimony that mormons follow a different God (in fact, one of many). If you have these things you should know and understand you follow false doctrines and false teachers. You should also know that Christ fulfilled the Mosaic Law and said, not in the the Garden at Gethsemane, but ON THE CROSS, "It is Finished." |

thomas, if you love Christians so much, why don't you or more especially your prophets, attend Christian churches and tell us how much the mormon church loves us? Why don't they also go to the synagogues of the Israelites and tell them how much the mormon church loves them? |

Yet again you are quick to judge a Doctrine without understanding. First tell us the Doctrine you wish to understand, then we give you a legitimate answer, then you write a comment as to why you dont believe it. Otherwise it just becomes an argument. :D The Spirit of Christ is a free gift given to all people, this is our conscience. The Holy Ghost is given after baptism by the laying on of hands, it allows us to know the truth of all things. The Prophet visits with many people of other faiths, i am visited by Jehovah Witnesses, I speak with my Roman Catholic Friends at work. I speak with Buddist and Dao people at work. (Did you know Dao tell a tale of a man being born of woman without a father - I thought that was astonishing.6000 yr old history record for China) While visiting the Phillipines i went to a Cathederal, for a wedding and showed respect for there faith. |

Okay, Thomas, I've got one--it's already in another thread. Why does the Mormon heirarchy appeal to the Word of Wisdom to condemn the drinking of caffeinated beverages (like Coca-Cola and Mountain Dew) but it doesn't condemn the consumption of chocolate when it can be easily demonstrated that there is far more caffeine in chocolate than in soda, coffee or tea. I lost my Temple Recommend for a time, and was threatened with disfellowshipping, at one point for admitting that I did not abide the Word of Wisdom on this matter, so tell me, what didn't I understand??? On another matter, you are correct: we don't believe in the same Christ--your Christ is a fraud and a mythical figure, not the Son of GOD that all true scripture testifies of. Regarding your lament of being "attacked":, read Galatians 1: 6-9. You bet your sweet ass I'm worried about being held accountable--most definitely if I don't reveal your cult for the affront and butchery of authentic Christianity that it is. Paul also tells us that we must contend for the Faith, so it shouldn't surprise you that people refute you to the face--you fallow a false Christ. Be offended all you want. I was most definitely offended when I discovered that I had wasted more than six years of my life on a lie that I had heard all my life but had never discerned. When you stop lamenting and start investigating you'll see what I mean. In His Grace, miki |

OK miki, i assume that is your name? I'll firstly help you with understanding (Galatians 1: 6-9 ) So here we see Paul talking about those people who leave the Gospel, but they dont actually leave the Gospel they change the Gospel to suit themselves. He then goes on to say that those who change the Lords Gospel are an abomination. "let him be accursed" (let him be doomed / cursed). It does not say that we as saints should 'Curse' others. (Galatians 2 Paul clearly demonstrates how one would go about 'contending' he had contended with the Spirit of Christ. When others 'contend' they are not of that Spirit, and it is clear to see in the way they speak with bitterness. Those 6 years of your life have made you who you are, when i first left the church i never condemned it, i just couldnt keep that standard of living. Which in turn drew the spirit out of me, it wasnt until my daughter had turned 7 that i realised she was missing out on the love that God had blessed me with as a child. When i had realised that God was calling me back into the fold did i decide to change my ways (Lots of stuff happend, really interesting story). And my Family life is so much better and more meaningful. Ok now for the "Word of Wisdom" Soft Drinks, Chocolate, Cakes, Lollies, somtimes these things contain caffeine. It is not recommended that any member eat or drink Caffeine because of the 'lag effect' it has on the body and the long term effects. Those soft drinks can become an addiction, i know first hand, i would steal soft drink cans out of the work dispenser because i felt "I needed" a soft drink to wash my meal down and i knew how easy it is to steal the drinks for free. As for Chocolate ive never liked it much, however i do like Tim Tams, the truth really is that all these things stimulate our taste buds and take control of our thoughts and in our weekend state satan has a real easy job of tempting us. You have every right to be dissapointed at the way they handled your case, if it was just as simple as you not understanding the Word of Wisdom, however you did not tell me the full story as to why they had threatened disfellowship. Was it that you just couldnt see why Chocolate is aloud and Soft Drinks isnt? "They" meaning your Bishop? or Friends and Family? Look forward to your next response to this thread. Hope i was able to help simplify those scriptures with you. |

You seriously need a reading comprehension class... Regarding Galatians: WRONG (where'd you get this crap?) Regarding WofW: WRONG (so JS JR knew about the "lag effects" of coffee and tea, but someone forgot to slip in the cocoa bean? Sophistry, again...It's all an issue of semantics with you...) You have not justified why my speculation is incorrect a simple "WRONG" means nothing to those of us who are here to learn. |

If you are here to learn, read the Holy Bible. On your own, during your own quiet time. |

Thomas, I am sorry, but how does joining a message board established for the purpose of exposing dangerous cults and then making one's first post a crass litany of all the horseshit (for lack of a better term) reasons that you and your cronies have come up with during Priesthood Meeting as to "why people [allegedly] hate Mormons" constitute being here to "learn"? How can you learn when you are doing the very thing that you said you would not do--"contend" with a wrong spirit against another??? I agree with Godchild--if you are here to learn, then read your Bible in the quiet of your own closet. But do not presume that you are by any means qualified to "instruct" me a thing or two about life and teaching in the Body of Christ--which you have separated yourself from--because all you are doing is making sure that no one can take you seriously. Justification: 1. You are not my spiritual director or my pastor--and since I have not left the Household of Christ you are in no position to "instruct" me on the ways of GOD--or Christian conduct. 2. Your exegesis regarding Galatians is a sectarian aberation based on your adherance to Mormon doctrine and is, therefore, false. 3. Before you decide that the "spirit" is speaking to you, you might consult a few commentaries that aren't produced by the Corporation of the Presidency's Sunday School Committee and figure out what Paul is *actually* teaching in Galatians, what the full context is, and what the Word is actually saying to whom and why. 4. Your response to my challenge to the Word of Wisdom only served to prove my point--when confronted with facts, Mormons (like most others in mind control cults) resort to rhetorical fallacy and run themselves in circles trying to muddle the facts to distract the hearer from the most pertinent fact that the speaker doesn't have a logical answer to prove their dogma. It doesn't work with me--been there, done that, so *not* impressed. If you really want to learn, maybe you should start by deferring comment instead of trying to lure me )most unsuccessfully) back into your cult. When it comes right down to brass tacks, your own sense of superiority for having "returned to the 'Church'" is your downfall. In His Grace, miki |

BTW Thomas: Just so we're clear--I believe (because GOD and reason have proved it) that both the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (and all it's hundreds of splinter groups) and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society are two of the most deceitful, prejudicial, pernicious, and demonically inspired pseudo-christian cults on the planet. Both deny the True Christ of Christianity, both make a mockery of the Word of GOD, both enslave the hearts of men for evil purposes with a false promise of unique "glory". My #1 goal in this life is to see them both dismantled and destroyed before the day I die. Then, I will be entirely eager and ready to stand before GOD, my Majesty and Judge--but not until I drag as many people with me to the courts of Heaven as I am able help meet the Jesus of the Bible. Please remember this the next time you get a burr in your butt to "instruct" me.... In His Grace, miki (Message edited by pointlessshrew on August 06, 2005) |

Pointlessshrew: No.1 goal in life? - hope not. Tell you what, your "but not until I drag as many people with me to the courts of Heaven as I am able help meet the Jesus of the Bible" is amazingly simlar to Satan's plan. Hmm, talk to you later Lucy |

NO, because unlike Satan, I respect the free will ("agency") of others. That by no means removes the culpability I have to do everything to ensure that I use every available to me to bring the truth of the cult you espouse as religious "truth" to the light of day. And, yes, Love, my number one goal in life is to make sure that my Saviour is not misrepresented any longer by that demonic sham of faith you hold in such high regard--and that it's wiped out of existence by the time I get to stand before my Majesty and give an accounting for my apostolate. Damn straight. I employ a euphemism, and you insinuate a false motive--talk about Satanic... Don't you mean talk *at*??? In His Grace, miki |

It came from " an Angel Of Light " according to Joseph Smith , from the 1948 copy of the Doctrine & Covenants that i Have. This angel of Light, Moroni (Nephi in some other recorded document),now attested as Moroni , appeared to Joseph an told of these ancient Gold Plates that were hidden in hill Cummorah , in up-state New York . After a period of 4 years Joseph was able to obtain such Plates and with the help of His Seer Stone placed in his Hat , deceipher the Reformed Egyptian characters on the plates and such the story of Mormonisn (Book Of Mormon) was born. |

whoever "adds or takes away from the Bible shall be in danger of hellfire" -- yeah, I love that one. I love how the people who bring that up tend to forget that.... #1, The Bible is a book of many books, and the Book of revelation though in the back was not the last book written chronologically. Jude was written last among others scholars say are missing and or not included in the Holy Bible for whatever reason when assembled many, many years ago. #2 This coment of 'adding and taking away" refers to the Book of Revelation, not the entire Bible which hadnt been assembled yet - not to mention that the Book of Jude (included in the Bible) was written afterwards. - - I think its fair to say no one has added or taken away from the Book of Revelation. #3. The Book of Mormon is Another testament of Jesus Christ. It acts as a second witness that Jesus is the Christ. Its does not take away from the teachings of Christ, it only strengthens them. #4 As colorful and untraditional as the Book of Mormon came to be in readible format for all to enjoy, the Holy Bible has a similar colorful past. #5 are these same people who bring this up as equally miffed about the Dead sea Scrolls, the kabala, the Koran? - Are these people who read from these books also going to Hell? Truth is the Book or Mormon is a beautiful record of Christ's dealings with people in the Ancient Americas. And together with the Holy Bible we have a more complete record of Gods word and a road map for what he expects from us. (Message edited by planetkram on January 11, 2006) |

To say the Holy Bible, which Christians believe is God-breathed, and God's Holy Word, has a colorful past, is to mock the God we worship. |

bluewater2, So, what's your point? You don't believe in God, life after death. All right, you've put your whole two cents worth of personal opinion on this and other threads. Do I care? No! Then go drink some good ocean saltwater and see how long you have your life. You're not stirring the pot. Your posts aren't creative enough for that. Why don't you create a bluewater's views thread. See how long you can attract even those who agree with you. I think you (if you have any sense) will then be able to move on and find a more valuable pasttime. |

Bluewater. From another thread on the mormon forum. “Bluewater. "this thread started out with "Mormonism is not a cult", yet you are here trying to get me to prove that god does not exist" And you also stated to me: “Go start another thread called "Prove god is real" and I will join you there and help you in your search for validation” Godchild let you know this too was a forum on mormonism.
