After about 2 mins of thought i had come to realise that i was straining myself for no reason. Upon realising the true reason why people hate Mormons. I decided to make a quick post of 10 reasons why anyone would 'hate' the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Note: The word 'Hate' somthing Jesus Christ did not teach us to do. Although dreading and fearing sin is a different thing. 1. They do not love there wives/partners woman. 2. Probably Homo-sexual. 3. They realised that Mormons dont really have more than 1 wife. 4. They do not want to see there family in heaven and they hate children. 5. Heineken tastes too good. 6. Masturbating over the Internet beats singing a Hymn at Family Home Evening. 7. They hate reading (The bible was long enough!) 8. They can get the spirit after 1 cone without being righteous. 9. God can make his own money, why steal 10 % of mine. 10. Pure Lazyness, sif spend all my time doing kind deeds to others. Wow such a revalation, i could go on all day as to why people hate Mormons. ROFLMAO! |

Spoken like a true mormon! If this is the love for others you are being taught by your church, you have just proved the Christian's points. Have you learned anything yet about hypocrisy? |

I find it very interesting that when the word 'hate' is used, it is started by mormons. |

You mean a *self*-righteous Mormon. What you are on you way to is a seriously overblown ego and a flaming case of delusions of grandeur, Thomas. People don't "hate" Mormons (well, except for the one's who used to steal our well water when I was a kid, and drain our wells dry to water *their* crops while my dad was out serving his country and getting shot at while they sat home claiming "clergy" exclusions--really moral, godly people, those bishops and elders were...) what they really hate are the lies and heresies that Mormons spread and the discrimination they promulgate (even amongst their own ranks)--like what you've been doing tonight. Before you break your arm patting yourself on the back, I can give you the names and phone numbers of Mormons (all offically in good standing) who do the very things that you claim are the reasons why "people hate Mormons". Maybe you should get on the horn and start chastizing *them*, since your effectiveness here leaves something to be desired. And, pardon me, the only reason Mormons don't practise polygamy at this time is because the "Church" had to abolish it in order to gain Statehood. May I remind you, however, that several "prophets"--Snow, McKay, and Benson among them--since then have stated that "plural marriage" *is* a doctrine of God and that it will be re-established at the Second Coming--for now the "Church" is just "abiding the law of the land". Just one more fact of deceit that you deliberately try to avoid. Why is it that when Mormons don't have an intelligent defense they resort to blanket ad hominem and passing the buck? I didn't know people really hate Mormons, I never hated them ....After studying there belief I have found that the Scam that Joe tryed to pull off really worked and actually did "pull it off" to a certain point, its just that big Joe didn't count on biblical scholars, and archeology of the future to back up the Bible. The other scams he tryed didn't really work so well "treasure digging" he ended up getting busted so what does he do next? he took advantage of the times which was home steading, and religion....if I was a scam artist I certainly wouldn't really find anything to scam on in "Homesteading"..........He wasn't the only one whom was scaming during that time...a lot of Christian based Cult took advantage during that time and it all stemed from an area in and around up state New York. they called it the "Burned out district", better known as the "Psychic Highway" Johovah witness, Mormons, Pentecostalism, to many to mention all came from this area. why did these cults stick around as long as they did??? well it sure wasn't from the spiritual fruits that Jesus talks about, they stuck around because of there timing in the worldly fruit that Satan controls.... its just that simple. |

dean, I think you have made some very good points. People of that time were more superstitious and delved into spiritualism (not spirituality as in communion with the Lord but in things like divining rods, seer stones (or "peep" stones), even rain dances, hocus-pokus and mumbo-jumbo. Much of that is still popular today (look at the astrology pages in newspapers, stores that sell tarot cards, reading rocks, crystals, bones, tea leaves, etc. They took sci-fi to mean fact, not fiction. Much of what we see as coincidence, they saw/see as "signs", thinking (as js did) they were specially chosen for some great thing. Once the mormon church gets people converted, then they are told who to listen to, what to read, where to go, everything. That's how the brainwashing begins, and after years of putting their trust in what they believe are truths (from God), its so very difficult to stop and say, "I've made a mistake." Instead they think, "I'm stupid." That's hard to accept for anyone, but they haven't been stupid; just misled. I know so many mormons who deny this because they don't live by what their church teaches. I've never heard one mormon man say, "I'm going to be a god on my own planet and have tons of wives and all the children will be mine as their god." They don't follow the "Word of Wisdom", don't attend meetings or ever go to the temples, they divorce, they have affairs, they kill one another (including their wives and children), they fight; they are no better than anyone else. But they think the label, "mormon" will get them through the millenium and into God's graces. |
