Toronto School of Yoga Therapy

Hi There
I am emailing as I have had an upsetting experience with the Toronto School of Yoga Therapy. I'm not sure who I can turn to for assistance, but I think that a good place to start is by letting Organization such as this know of this experience, as follows:

I had applied for acceptance into the Toronto School of Yoga Therapy and paid for my first bridging course (Kundalini) into the program. At the time, the Web site was not at all current, but I was so excited about the program that I went full speed ahead. Upon paying my first installment of nearly $3000, I signed a waiver saying that beyond 10 days of registration, I would not be offered a refund. At this time, this was certainly my intent, as I was so excited about my enrollment. For about 3 months after that, I was trying to get some additional information on when the Kundalini module was offered. Finally, only 2 weeks ago, it was brought to my attention that the "module" that was said to require only 2 weeks of study in Toronto actually requires a total of 6 weeks. For obvious work-related reasons, this is simply not possible (not to mention the extra costs incurred for staying in Toronto three times longer than planned). Immediately, I contacted someone to request a refund.

They have flat out refused even a partial refund of the funds allotted, although I have not taken even a moment of instruction from their college. $3000 is a lot of money to donate involuntarily! I have told them that I can obtain a medical doctor's note supporting my statement, but they won't budge. I don’t know what other recourse I have. Particularly from a school that claims to be "yogic" in their philosophy and teachings, I am really taken aback and how I'm being treated. I have never heard of a policy such as this, as things do happen to people (unforeseen circumstances, death, illness) . . . And with adequate time (I have not even registered for the courses in 2008) given, it seems like incredibly bad business to refuse consideration. I EVEN HAVE A DOCTORS NOTE!
