Nano-Proprietary Inc claimed that the use of its patented technology at SED Inc - a joint venture for SED TV of Canon Inc and Toshiba Corp - is not covered under a license agreement with Canon Inc. On April 11, 2005 Nano-Proprietary Inc (Austin, Texas, US) filed suit against Canon Inc in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division. Canon Inc will turn SED Inc, an equally owned venture with Toshiba Corp, into a wholly owned subsidiary, effective Jan. 29, 2007. Canon Inc and Toshiba Corp produce SED TVs in Japan later this year. SED President Kazunori Fukuma 福間和則 and about 200 Toshiba persons stay SED Inc. Just like a Toshiba Corp's subsidiary Canon Inc, Toshiba Corp orders Fukuma to transfer '転籍させる' his domicile from Toshiba Corp to Canon Inc. Toshiba Corp will continue to lead Canon Inc in SED Inc from the beginning 1999. Nano-Proprietary Inc said restructuring of Canon's ownership position does not resolve the pending litigation. Don't you think why Toshiba Corp stingily doesn't pay others' patent license fee ? Even if they know the company is a thief. While Toshiba Corp maybe morbidly exploits many World's companies for its own DVD and HD DVD patent license fee. I hope Nano-Proprietary Inc wins against Toshiba Corp the World's No. 1 thievish terrorist. 3 Toshiba Corp's core business are all theft - important NAND Flash memory patent from Lexar Media Inc (USA), important SED TV patent from Nano-Proprietary Inc (USA) and maybe important Nuclear power system patent (for new ABWR AB1600) from General Electric Co (USA). - I could post again on Jan 17, 2007 (in Tokyo time) after long interval from 2005.
