Cult leaders have the same sicknesses. Absolute power brings perversions...

Submitted by nabashalam on Sat, 03/24/2012 - 20:54

FACTNet News Blog Editor's note:  I keep seeing the trends of the deluded narcissistic power intoxicated cult leaders that include sexual perversions including sexual assaults on minors and pubescent youths.  It makes me think the same demon thrives inside the walls of their camps and they two feed off each other. This is just one more aspect of the "cult life" that sucks people into a life of servitude and total submission and complete capitulation that is hidden under the guise of a Christian "Come home with us we know the way" that offers the highest purpose in the Universe (To bring about the second coming of Christ and be the only ones to receive eternal forgiveness and the power to rule a planet of your own.). Some recruits may even forecast so far as to see themselves propagating their own planet with anyone they choose with or without permission. Being that your King of your own planet, who is to tell or say what you can or cannot do?
Now let me show you some recent examples. Keep in mind this is such a common occurrence but when I saw two in one day I had to say something about it...

First off let me thank the crew at Religion News Blog.com and the ApologeticsIndex.org for their having the best and most reliable news source on Cult News and their compilation of resources on all and every kind of group you can imagine and the best source of collected Daily Cult News Stories ever to be found on the web. (Thanks Anton and Janet...)  PS BTW FYI, the mud being thrown at Anton by a certain self proclaimed cult expert is a bunch of trash talk by someone who is a jealous backbiter who's website is more like the National Enquirer compared to Anton's site which is more like Newsweek in comparison. I am so grateful that there is such a source like and http://www.apologeticsindex.org/
Thank you all for bearing with me. I just had to get that off my chest. Sincerely, Capt Frank Furillo.

Cult leader Terrill ‘Holy Ghost’ Dalton convicted of rape

ReligionNewsBlog.com • Friday March 23, 2012

After about five hours of deliberation, a jury Thursday found a leader of a religious sect guilty of raping his daughter and allowing his friend to rape her as well.
Deseret News report Emiley Morgan reports via KSL.com that

Terrill Dalton, 45, who used the name the “Holy Ghost,” was convicted of two counts of rape, a first-degree felony. [...]
Prosecutors say Dalton condoned an “impression” that Geody Harman, 38, said he had received indicating that he needed to have sex with the then-15-year-old girl. Both Dalton and Harman were leaders of a small religious group called the Church of the First Born and the General Assembly of Heaven.
Dalton called himself the “Holy Ghost” while Harman was often referred to as “God in the flesh.” In a prior hearing, Dalton’s daughter testified that she was promised she would receive blessings if she had sex with the two men and felt extreme pressure from her father and those in his church to comply.
“I didn’t know what to believe,” Cynthia Dalton testified. “That church was everything I knew.”

Dalton and Harman were arrested in August, 2010.
In an interview with a Montana newspaper Dalton, a former Mormon, said that Jesus Christ visited him several times after a two day fast, telling him that he, Dalton, was the Holy Ghost and Jesus’ father.
Dalton and Harman moved their church to Idaho in the summer of 2009, after their home in the Salt Lake City suburb of Magna was raided by federal officials investigating claims of child sexual abuse and assassination threats against President Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In March, 2010 the group moved again, this time to Montana.
The Salt Lake Tribune says

Dalton, who has been in custody throughout the trial, could be sentenced to up to life in prison on both convictions.
In 3rd District Court this week, the victim, now 22, said Dalton told her that having sex with 38-year-old Geody Harman was God’s will. The woman said Dalton later promised her “great blessings” if she also had sex with him.
“He made me feel as if no matter what I did, I could never be right before God,” she testified. “I tried so hard. … There was always something bigger he wanted me to do.” [...]
Harman, who has been charged with rape, has been offered a plea deal that will allow him to plead guilty to a lesser charge and avoid further jail or prison time in exchange for his testimony, but he has yet to officially enter a plea.

Pastor of Sound Doctrine Church charged with first-degree rape of a child

ReligionNewsBlog.com • Friday March 23, 2012

Religion News Blog — Malcolm John Fraser, the assistant pastor of Sound Doctrine Church in Enumclaw, Washington, was formally charged Thursday afternoon with first-degree rape of a child.
The Enumclaw Courier Herald reports

Fraser, 39, was arrested by Enumclaw police March 20 and will be arraigned April 5.
According to charging papers made public Thursday, Fraser is alleged to have had repeated sexual contacts with a girl during 2005 and 2006. While it was noted intercourse did not occur, other sex acts have been alleged. Papers filed by the King County Prosecutor’s Office state that Fraser forced the young girl to engage in certain sex acts.
A “probable cause” statement issued by the Enumclaw Police Department said the issue was first brought to police attention March 12, when the EPD received a report from Child Protective Services. According to the police document, CPS said a youngster “had been molested by the assistant pastor of a local church during the time frame of 2005 to 2006.” The girl is now 17. [...]
The victim said Fraser informed her she would go to hell if she told anyone what was occurring.
The afternoon of March 20, Fraser was arrested at the office of Winepress Publishing, 1730 Railroad St. in downtown Enumclaw. Sound Doctrine Church owns that business, as well as Salt Shaker Christian Bookstore, another downtown venture.

CHURCH REFERRED TO AS A CULT: http://www.apologeticsindex.org/2725-sound-doctrine-church

In 2009 Sound Doctrine Church was in the news in relation to a custody ruling involving a female member of the church.
The Temporary Custody Ruling in the case shows that friends and family members of the woman and her estranged husband consider the church to be a cult.
The beliefs promoted by Sound Doctrine Church include many unbiblical teachings and, taking practices into account as well the church can be considered to be, theologically, a cult of Christianity.

Second fingerprint found in cult killing of 4-year old boy

ReligionNewsBlog.com • Wednesday March 21, 2012

Religion News Blog — New search warrants released Tuesday show a second fingerprint belonging to cult leader Peter Moses Jr. was found on clear tape used to wrap plastic around the remains of a 4-year-old boy.
Search warrants issued by the Durham, NC Police Department last month showed investigators have matched a fingerprint from the graves of a young boy and a woman with Moses, who has been charged in their deaths.
The single fingerprint found on a piece of tape that had been wrapped around plastic bags that encased the body of Jadon Higganbothan was conclusively identified as belonging to Peter Lucas Moses.
News reports variously refer to Jadon Higganbothan as either 4 or 5 years old at the time he was murdered. Warrants state he was 4 years old.
In June, 2011 Moses was charged with first-degree murder in the death of the young boy, who died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Earlier that month Moses — along with six other members of his household — had also been charged in the murder of Antoinetta Yvonne McKoy.
Their bodies were found in a shallow grave at a home a few miles from the Durham home where they had lived with Moses and his followers.
The home is the former residence of Sheilda Evelyn Harris, the mother of Peter Moses. She was among those indicted with the murders along with Moses, as is his brother, P. Leonard Moses and his sister, Sheila Falisha Moses.
Police have referred to Moses as the leader of a polygamous religious cult.
Police and media reports have referred to the group as the ‘Black Hebrews’ or ‘Black Hebrew Israelites.’
Investigators believe Jadon Higganbothan was killed because Moses suspected the 4-year old was a homosexual, like his biological father.
They have also indicated that Antoinetta Yvonne McKoy was shot and killed by Vania Sisk, Jadon Higganbothan’s mother, after McKoy tried to escape from the group’s communal house. Sisk is believed to have been dating Peter Lucas Moses.
