Jewish/Buddhist persecution
September 18, 1997
Please check out some stories about religious persecution by local government and neighborhood associations in Ignacio, COlo.
Go to:news.html at www.boulderplanet.com. Look under the heading titled "Selby feud hits close to home"
From there, you'll find links to two other related stories. One is about a group called Residents Against Inappropriate Development (RAID) that's telling a Buddhist he can't allow guests to pray in his home, as that would make it a church and therefore a zoning violation. They're even threatening to have the house dismantled if guests pray in it.
Another story involves a Jewish Rabbi who's being told he can't have guests at his home for religious functions. It's serious stuff. And it's not just Boulder. In local government circles, it's "as goes Boulder, so goes the country."
If any of this intriques you, please let your feelings be known with a letter to news@boulderplanet.com, or by hitting the mailto function on their site.
