Hubbard Charter School on hold

Today the Los Angeles Times reports that Scientologist Linda Smith withdrew her plan for creating a charter Los Angeles Unified School District using the Scientology cult's teachings, stating she will try again later.

School board President Julie Korenstein said concerning the proposition that the proposal for the chartered school will be introduced later, commented, " If there continues to be any connection at all with Scientology, I would be derelict in my duties as a Board of Education member to support something like that."

Linda Smith is represented by Steve Hayes, most probably the same lawyer who purchased the Cult Awareness Network after it was bankrupted by Scientology attorney Kendrick Moxon.
