Suicide of Bob Mills
Robert George Mills born August 29, 1946 committed suicide April 16, 1989. In 1978-79 he nearly made
it to OT3 in Los Angeles. I met him in 1979 after his return from there and we started a relationship in
1980. By the time we had moved to Nova Scotia, he had begun physically, mentally, and later I
discovered, sexually abusing one of my daughters. I charged him with assault in February 1989, and by
April 16 he had taken his life. He was to appear in court in May.
I have record of the conversations that took place between Bob and an individual named Mike Burns at the
Royal Oak Michigan mission. I also have two letters written by Bob recounting in detail his "handling" of the
offense during one of his visits to the mission in February 1988. During his visit he claims that he confessed
this crime to someone. Everyone there denies this and two months prior to his death, his file disappeared. I
started asking questions. I think this was getting too sticky for the mission. And I know that although he was
capable of anything, I'm certain the suspicions I've had for years are confirmed by the information I've
found on the net, FACTNet and others. He was encouraged to kill himself. The facts of his "confession" a
year before would have been exposed. I appeared angered that noone there told me when I signed up for
courses.
I was never a member, never accepted the principles completely, and always took exception to Bob's
"application" of the "tech", but I deliberately took courses and paid for expensive auditing to "get inside" to
better understand what I was dealing with. When I met Bob, one of the first conversations we had involved
talking about his cousin Penny who had died of cancer and Brand, her husband who had just taken his life,
overburdened by debt to the hospital and the Church. They had introduced Bob to the Church. These
deaths happened just prior to our meeting. He was grieving as I recall. There are no coincidences. I believe
their last name was Pince and they were from Ontario and had been in LA. Penny worked with Narconon
or whatever the drug program was called in Scientology when she became ill.
Bob always talked about the dangers of doing OT3 as though to impress upon me the impact of
Scientology or his own personal power. I spent years under his controlling manipulative psychotic
brainwashing power. And although I'm certain it is who he was, I hold the irresponsible management of
Scientology missions to blame for auditing badly, incompletely, idiotically. For taking inept, vulnerable
individuals off the street and putting them in positions of determining the psychological condition of an
individual. For giving suppressives like Bob a vehicle to act out their demonic personalities, very covertly,
very well hidden.
One long-standing Scientologist at Royal Oak admitted that "mistakes were made" in LA during those years
that Bob got his OT levels. I had asked if it was possible that someone could get screwed up during
auditing and if they were now calling Bob a "raving suppressive", how could they have let that slip. Anyway,
I hold them responsible for creating a maniac, for holding information about a crime, and for destroying the
lives of a family. Can't they "pick out" a 1:1 to use their vernacular, in auditing?????? Interesting to me is the
fact that they were calling me a natural "clear", they couldn't get to me and they couldn't tell I was playing a
role to get information. Anyway, I hope this is helpful.
